Many people I work with tell me they feel “stuck” when it comes to making their next career move.
But usually, once we start talking properly, that’s not really what’s happening.
More often, they’ve just been carrying the weight of the decision on their own for too long.
Trying to think their way to certainty.
Going round in circles.
Overanalysing every option.
Second-guessing themselves.
And because the decision is an important one, they put even more pressure on themselves to get it “right”.
Which usually makes clarity harder, not easier ...and so the overthinking continues.
This is really common in mid-career, because career decisions are rarely just about work.
They’re about your life, your energy, your future, your responsibilities, your identity, and what you want your next chapter to look like.
Sometimes the most helpful thing is having the space to pause and think clearly again.
To step out of the mental loop for a moment.
To properly untangle what’s underneath all the pressure and overthinking.
And reconnect with what actually fits who you are, and how you want your life to feel now.
If this feels familiar and you’d like to talk through your next career move properly, feel free to drop me a message.
