Sometimes the best answer is the simplest one.

Do you struggle with your protein intake?

Always trying to find a new way to get more protein into your day?

This should help ⬆️

Most people write the year off around now.

“I’ll start properly in January.”

I hear it every Autumn.

But January you will thank October you for getting a 10 week head start.

Pick one thing.

Start it this week.

Save this and come back to it in December 💙

The question I hear most from parents is “how do I find the time?”

I get it. Work, school runs, bedtime battles, and somewhere in there you’re meant to look after yourself too.

But here’s how I see it. Training isn’t time taken away from your kids. It’s time invested in being there for them. Not just around, but able to keep up, get down on the floor, and say yes when they ask you to play.

And they’re watching. They notice the trainers by the door, the walk after a long day, you going when you’d rather sit down. That shapes what they think normal looks like.

As a dad, that’s what keeps me consistent. Not motivation. Knowing my kids are learning from what I do AND what I say.

You don’t need to overhaul your life. You don’t need two hours a day. Small, consistent effort that they can see is enough to start.

If you’ve had some time off, that’s fine. That’s parenting. What matters is what you do from here.

Comment REBUILD and I’ll help you get started.

What surprised me most about running?

How much I’d actually enjoy it.

I came from bodybuilding. Running was the thing I swerved for years. Too boring. Never suited my goals. Not for me.

Now it’s something I genuinely look forward to.
Most days I head out with a busy head. Work, kids, a list as long as my arm. I come back clearer. Calmer. Better to be around.

I’ve just done my first 12km. And I’m proud of it. Properly proud. Because it was hard. There were runs along the way where every part of me wanted to stop and walk home.

Next up is my first race. Bit nervous if I’m honest. But that’s kind of the point.

Because this isn’t really about running.
It’s about picking something you’re not good at yet and sticking with it when it gets uncomfortable.

That stuff doesn’t stay in one box. It follows you home. You’re more patient with the kids. More present with your partner. A better mate. The crazy nap wake ups and the bedtime battles feel lighter when you’ve already done something hard that day.

Working on yourself isn’t selfish. It’s how you show up better for the people who need you.

So what’s the thing you keep putting off because it looks too hard?

That might be exactly where you need to start.

Do you fall into this camp?

Extreme deficits have a very short deadline and rarely result in a better end result.

Preserve your muscle, keep your strength, and dare I say it… maintain your friendships 😅, by maintaining a “steady” deficit.

A recent chat with a client led to this slight change in thinking.

This basically cements the thought process of being able to keep moving forwards even when things don’t align perfectly.

Even if you can’t train as much as you’d like, you can still eat well. And vise versa.

There are many cogs that turn to make this process work, not all of them have to be working perfectly at all times to get the job done.
