I’m not sorry…

It has been a while, and there are reasons for my quietness

Because in this noisy life, we really do need the quiet

When Life throws all the noise, the biggest thing we can do, is to PAUSE

(and yes, I said ducks when I meant geese, but it was about the noise, not the feathers 😉🦆🪿)

And then in that pausing, ideas and planning happen

So, there’s something VERY beautiful being created for Canvas Club and I’ll share more soon (am very excited 🌊🎨🏞️!)

But in the meantime, because algorithms can share in the same way as the noisy geese 😉, and the bike hiding in the mud, please sign up to my emails, then you’re definitely not going to miss what is coming ♥️

I always forget to share these…

My playing with paint creating …. Yes, I appear to be obsessed with Hares & Moons (there are more in my photo reel I could have shared 😜🤣)

They always sell too, perhaps I should do more?

But I also wanted to share that even though October’s “Autumn Lake” Painting Evening Karl And Lisa is Sold Out (painting kits are available though so you can create from the same inspiration wherever & whenever you like)

There are still places to book your space on the “Winter Lake” Painting Evening on 9th November - and who would like to add a hare & a moon to their creation?! 🐇🌙

Sometimes it takes something really familiar to remind us of what’s important

We can get so caught up in the lifing of life that we can forget to live it

This reminded me to JUST DO the trip/the event/the experience - whatever it is that you’ve wanted to do or try but haven’t for some reason

AND to always take the photo ♥️ (and frame it so you can see it, not keep it hidden in the photo albums hiding in your phone)

A little glimpse of my very first Creative Reset Day last Sunday thefarnhampottery …and what’s coming next 🫶🏻

A whole day to slow down, switch off, create without pressure and simply enjoy the process

There was painting, of course… but there was also plenty of laughter, quiet moments, yummy food THE HOBO.CO , mindfulness, conversation and that lovely feeling of not needing to be anywhere else

No rushing
No worrying about whether it’s “good enough”
Just trusting the process and seeing where your creativity takes you

And judging by the lovely words from those who came along, I think we all need a day like this ♥️

So… Creative Reset: Winter Edition
is coming in February…

I took the time to be curious this morning…

It’s so easy to walk the same paths, drive the same roads and go about our everyday lives without really seeing what’s around us

Sometimes it only takes a little pause… a moment of curiosity… to discover something you never knew was there

That’s a little bit like creativity too…

You don’t always need to go looking for something big or exciting

Sometimes it’s about slowing down enough to notice the little things:
shapes
colours
textures
The tiny details you’ve never seen before

I know Arlo wasn’t bothered about the mini museum 😜🤣 and he did still get to run around and sniff EVERYTHING … maybe that’s the lesson here:

Be more Arlo and notice EVERYTHING!

I used to worry about this being wrong…

When I first started running painting sessions I’d worry when it went all super quiet with no one talking, there’s just this silence in a room full of humans at an event that I’ve created for them to enjoy themselves at 😳

And I’d think, oh no, everyone’s not chatting because they’re not enjoying themselves 😱

But actually, this is the truth:
They are so immersed IN the creative process , that they’re lost in that moment (and it’s the good type of lost 😉♥️)

There are ALWAYS the Biggest smiles at the end of the painting workshop, when each person has taken a blank, pristine, clean canvas and simply played with paint to create their very own unique painting, all by themselves (with just gentle guidance from me, I never actually paint anything, other than the “Inspiration” painting)

So now, when those quiet moments happen, I’m actually my most happiest because I know that it’s in those moments that all the magic is happening ✨

When life has been lifing, I am sooo incredibly grateful that I get to do this….

Because there is no greater joy than seeing others smile and discover their joy in creating

These pictures, from the last three painting workshops say it all: that spending time painting (and guiding everyone to paint 😉) is always a reminder of how much happiness creating brings us all ♥️
