Did you know it's today? It's an international celebration held annually on the second Tuesday of October to honour women's achievements in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Ada Lovelace (1815–1852) was an English mathematician and writer widely regarded as the world's first computer programmer.

What better way to demonstrate coding and STEM careers than with Driven By Sport, presented by Kwik Fit , and 40 girls and boys at Brands Hatch ahead of the final race weekend of the BTCC British Touring Car Championship last week?

Children from Year 4 learnt a range of skills - presenting and interviewing race drivers with Isi Browning, driving skills with Puresims , First Aid with TOCA Safety Team and coding and racing with Skill Supply Sphero RVR+. To say they had a great day would be an understatement! Looking behind the scenes in the paddock gave them a great insight into all the different roles that go to make a great racing team.

Did you know we'll be at the Royal Navy Museums at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard this Saturday (10th Oct) to celebrate Cadet Week?

We'll be challenging cadets to build something Tall, the Moves and Rolls -something we've challenged Brentwood CCF RN and Army cadets with, as well as visitors to the museum, over the summer.

As part of National Cadet Week, we are showcasing some of the STEM workshop deliveries to Cadets In Schools and community units.

We've spent time developing systems that really engage cadets, both in schools and community units. Using our knowledge of STEM products, working with over 35K learners in schools and colleges, and 30 years as a CFAV (cadet force adult volunteer) has led to some great sessions.

Take a look at the day we spent with Wymondham College CCF, teaching them about all the kit they'd purchased through us to bring STEM and syllabus subjects to life.

Today kicks off the first-ever National Cadets Week - a national celebration of the Cadet movement.

Here at Skill Supply, we've been proud to support Dom as a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer with the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) Cadets In Schools and the Royal Air Force Air Cadets (RAFAC). Due to an ever-increasing role at work, he is now Sqn Ldr (Retired, after 30 years' service), but we still get to work with Cadets across the country through our STEM engagement activities. More about that throughout the week.

Just before the summer break, we were thrilled to be invited back to Brentwood School to work with their Year 9 Royal Navy and British Army Combined Cadet Force Cadets . Over the course of two days we worked with 120 students, providing them with some incredible , and opportunities.

Here you can see their skills being tested first using line-of-sight and then in first-person view . For novices there were some very skilled pilots!

Just before the summer break, we were thrilled to be invited back to Brentwood School to work with their Year 9 Royal Navy and British Army Combined Cadet Force Cadets . Over the course of two days we worked with 120 students, providing them with some incredible , and opportunities.

Here you can see their skills being tested, as well as their creativity as they set about creating something tall, that moved and rolled. They then had to follow CAD schematics to build a vehicle that had an auto-stopping feature as a closed-loop control.
