This year we were invited by our friends Butterfly childcare and Sue's Childminding - Alsager to help decorate a Christmas Tree for Wesley Place Church's tree festival ready for their Christmas light switch on.

All the decorations have been made by children as young as 9mths up to 3 years old.

Our little Roo's loved creating our star themed decorations using lollypop sticks. Some of the children chose to paint their sticks whilst others used their fine motor skills to decorate the stars using different coloured shaped gems.

All the decorations are amazing! If you are in the area you should definitely go and visit!

It's been a while since we've posted about our adventures! We are loving the warmer and brighter days ☀️

After the school pick up today we decided to go to a local farm shop to check on the newborn lambs, burn off some energy on the fixed play equipment and enjoy a delicious ice cream 🍦

This morning, we went on a walk to the local park with our friends from Peas in a Pod Childminding. Whilst there we used three of our senses, sight, touch and sound to explore our surroundings.
We heard the sound of:
*birds singing in the trees
*dogs barking
*Car engines turning
*Children playing

We saw with our eyes and/or felt with our hands:
*fallen leaves
*Soil
*Different sized sticks
*Different plants
*Animal and human footprints

We also enjoyed using our gross motor skills to explore the climbing apparatus.

My Co-Childminder and I are looking for another member to join our team in September 2025!

😊 You MUST be calm, caring and compassionate with a love for early years education.

⏰ We are looking for an assistant to work Monday- Thursday 8:45am-3:45pm. If you have children who attend Smallwood or Rode Heath School pick ups can be discussed.
You will be based in Sandbach during the day however will be needed to be in Rode Heath for 8:45am.

🚗 Full UK license and your own car is essential, mileage will be paid.

🧑‍🎓 All training will be provided.

💰 Salary can be negotiated dependant on experience/qualifications.

Happy New Year and a big thank you for an amazing year! 🎉

As we step into 2025, I’m excited to celebrate not only the start of a new year but also the 1st anniversary of Skippity Roo Childminding. It's been an incredible journey, and I’m deeply grateful for the support, trust, and partnerships that have made this milestone possible. Here's to more growth, success, and collaboration in the year ahead!

❄️ SNOW & ICE 🧊

We've had a wonderful time this week exploring the elements. For alot of our Little Roo's it may have been their very first time playing in the snow. Seeing their facial expressions change when they touched the snow for the first time was magical to watch ✨️

To extend and enhance the learning opportunities we brought out the different sized buckets, spades, scoops and wheelbarrows. The children throughly enjoyed transporting the snow and building snow castles.

We left some of our toys in the tuff tray overnight to see what would happen. The next day our Roo's had to use their problem solving skills to try and break the toys out of the ice.
