Partou values and care, compassion, and continuous learning, and Maisie has shown an abundance of that during her L3 apprenticeship.

Maisie has now officially passed her L3 with an outstanding DISTINCTION in ALL modules. We are so incredibly proud of her, she has shown nothing but determination and enthusiasm and this result absolutely reflects that.

⭐️ Employee of the term ⭐️

Lucy who is based in our preschool room has won the employee of the term. She has been voted by the staff for always having a smile on her face and her positivity. Always offering support when she can and working so hard in the rooms, making sure the children are looked after and always have amazing activities linked into the children’s next steps.
Well done Lucy!!

A Special Postbox Adventure!

Pre-School went on an exciting little adventure to the postbox to post something very special.

The children had lots of fun designing their very own postcards, choosing what they would like to do and creating their own wonderful ideas. They were so excited to take their postcards to the postbox and post them!

The children walked amazingly well on our trip, showing fantastic listening, good manners and such great behaviour.
I am so very proud of every single one of them!

This week, Daisies have been developing their communication and language skills through a vet-themed role play as they celebrated International dog day.

The children have enjoyed pretending to be vets, looking at different types of dogs and looking at ways to care for animals.

They have been practising their listening and responding skills while taking turns and sharing roles during their play.

Daisies have also been practicing their mark making this week by drawing a variety of dogs.

Maths fun in the sun

Preschool children had lots of fun practicing their mathematics outside in the water trays. They have used lots of positional language, measured the water, looking at the numbers and seeing who has more. Sharing and working as a team problem solving together.

Last nights staff meeting

We always talk through updates on our nursery and what has been happening that month. We also always do a section about safeguarding which this month we did some scenarios which include domestic violence, prevent and child trafficking. Making sure all of our staff are confident and know what to do.

This months staff meeting we have focused on the mealtime policy as mealtime is a very important time, where we have to keep the children safe. So we have talked about the policy and had a quiz to check our knowledge.

Safer sleep was also on the agenda, due to it getting updated in September, we did an activity where we looked at pictures of children sleeping that are not following the safer sleep policy and noticing all the things that shouldn’t have happened and what it should look like instead. We even had a go at putting the sheets on as they can be quite tricky, sharing our tips and tricks we have learnt over time.

Lastly we have looked at the importance of our cohort and planning in the rooms by going into rooms the staff aren’t based in and creating an activity looking at the cohort and planning.

Leavers party 🥳

Today we celebrated the past, the present and the future of our Preschool leavers.

We have loved looking after all of you and it’s a bitter sweet goodbye. We are so excited to see what you all achieve in the years to come and we know you are all so ready for this next adventure. However we will miss you all so much and the nursery will feel very empty without all of your smiling faces.

We also want to say a huge thank you to the parents for all of your support over the years. You have been amazing and we couldn’t have asked for better families to be a part of ours.

Solar eclipse and meteors ☀️🌑🌠

Yesterday or Preschool children had fun exploring all things space. They have talked about the solar eclipse and how it happens, tried on the special eclipse glasses and learnt why we need to wear them if we look up at the sun. Learning about the world around us and a lot of new vocabulary.

The children coloured in their own moon and sun to create their very own eclipse. Working on their expressive arts and design.

They had a go at creating space ships and satellites from magnetic tiles. Working on their imagination and hand eye coordination.

As well as collecting the meteors (tinfoil balls and pompoms) in the dark sky and seeing how many they can get. Working on their mathematics and fine motor skills.

A lot of our children have gone to watch the solar eclipse after nursery and knew a lot more about it, carrying on their learning at home.

Staff wellbeing 💕

Our staff are the heart of our nursery. We might be bias however we do have the best staff here at Kids Corner and we try to look after them as much as we can.

We have recently had a little spruce up in our staff room making it more cosy. The staff can help themselves to teas, coffees and of course biscuits on their lunch.

We also love hearing your feed back about how amazing our staff are and when we get the feedback we hang it up on our wellbeing board. All of your lovely words mean the world!
