This Saturday for our Author Spotlight, we’re featuring Helen Kelly Books
Helen Kelly is a North Yorkshire-based author and mother of two grown-up daughters. With a lifelong passion for history and research, she has achieved three master’s degrees in History.
Although she had always wanted to write, being diagnosed with dyslexia made her feel it might not be possible. Now, she is proving herself wrong and embracing her love of storytelling.
Helen draws inspiration from the places she loves most, particularly canals and waterways, which she finds peaceful and calming. Her Greengrove romance series was inspired by this, as well as her memories of growing up in Guildford, where she would spend her work breaks walking along the River Wey to a quiet stone bench—an especially magical place that became the inspiration for Lacy’s special spot in the first of her Greengrove stories - A Special Place.
When she’s not writing or reading, Helen enjoys exploring different parts of the United Kingdom, especially places with canals or waterfalls.
