๐ŸŒŸ Our First Week Back ๐ŸŒŸ

What a brilliant first couple of days back at school for Year 3/4!
The children kicked off the term with a handwriting task, sharing their favourite holiday memories with Miss Cook, who was completely blown away by their incredible neatness and effort. Afterwards, they got stuck into our new Art topic, creating vibrant mood boards inspired by the patterns and designs of artist William De Morgan. ๐ŸŽจ

Day two was packed with excitement, curiosity and plenty of energy! The biggest buzz of the morning came when the children finally discovered their new class read. ๐Ÿ“š They had been eagerly waiting to find out which story would be taking them on their next reading adventure, and they didnโ€™t waste a second diving right in. By the end of the session, everyone was already asking when we could read the next chapter.

Later in the day, we began our exciting new Geography topic on Mountains. ๐Ÿ”๏ธ The children absolutely blew Miss Cook away with their sharp minds and fantastic recall, retrieving key facts and geographical knowledge in record time.

What a fantastic start, Year 3/4! We canโ€™t wait to see where your learning takes you next. ๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŒŸ Our First Week Back ๐ŸŒŸ

Wow, Year 1/2! Not only do you look so grown up and smart in your uniforms, but you have had a brilliant first couple of days together!

We have had a busy start back at school, learning a little more about our routines and expectations in Key Stage One. We have also made a fantastic start to our learning, beginning our brand-new Geography topic, โ€˜Our Island Homeโ€™, and our new Science topic, all about plants. ๐ŸŒฑ

We canโ€™t wait to see how we build on this knowledge next week and beyond. Well done, Year 1/2, for such a super first couple of days! ๐Ÿ‘

What a gorgeous first two days in Reception!

We have been learning our new routines, exploring our different learning areas and sharing all about what we got up to over the summer holidays.

It has been wonderful to see the children settling in so beautifully and growing in confidence already. Mrs Lyth was very impressed! ๐Ÿ‘

What a lovely start to the year, Reception โ€” well done! ๐ŸŒŸ

๐ŸŒŸ Our First Week Back ๐ŸŒŸ

What a wonderful start to the term! We have loved welcoming our new friends to Nursery and getting used to our daily routines.

The children have done a fantastic job learning how to โ€œchoose it, use it, and put it awayโ€, helping us to take care of our classroom and keep it ready for learning and play.

We are so proud of how settled everyone is already! ๐Ÿ‘

The children have had a wonderful time settling into their new classroom, getting to know their surroundings and becoming familiar with their new routines.

This half term, our topic is โ€˜All About Meโ€™ and we canโ€™t wait to share some of our exciting learning, special moments and discoveries with you along the way!

What a lovely first week! Well done, everyone! ๐Ÿ‘

Please can we remind parents and carers not to park on Miners Way or on the grass verges which they pay privately to upkeep.

In addition, many of the residents of Miners Way are elderly and disabled. Parking on this private road restricts essential access for both ambulances and carers.

Thank you for your support.

๐Ÿฆก Welcome Back, Badgers ๐Ÿฆก

This afternoon, Mrs Brook brought all of Key Stage 2 together for a special Welcome Back Assembly, revisiting our fantastic Badger Values and celebrating how brilliantly our children demonstrate them every day. ๐Ÿ’œ

The children talked about what it really means to be a Badger and how we can put our values into action. We thought particularly about empathy and how we can make others feel welcome โ€” especially our younger or new children. Simple things like showing someone around the playground, inviting them to play or checking that they are okay can make such a big difference. ๐Ÿฅฐ

Our focus this half term is Respect, and the children shared lots of thoughtful ideas about what respect looks and sounds like in our school. From saying good morning to others and holding doors open, to showing good listening, allowing others to speak and not interrupting โ€” it is often the little things that make our school such a lovely place to be. ๐ŸŒŸ
It was also wonderful to see our new Year 6 children already showing what fantastic role models they are, sitting proudly on the benches at the back of the room and setting such a brilliant example for others. ๐Ÿ‘

What a lovely way to start the new school year โ€” a reminder of the values that make us proud to be Badgers. ๐Ÿฆก

๐ŸฆกWelcome back, Badgers ๐Ÿฆก

What a lovely way for our Reception and Key Stage 1 children to start their new school year!

This morning, the children enjoyed a special Welcome Back Assembly with Mrs Brook, who shared the wonderful story Do Unto Otters: A Book About Manners by Laurie Keller. ๐Ÿฆฆ๐Ÿ“–

Together, we talked about the importance of being kind, polite, respectful and thoughtful towards others โ€” and what it means to be proud to be a Badger. ๐Ÿฆก

It was such a lovely opportunity to remind our children of the values that make our school community so special and to set us off to a fantastic year together.

Welcome back, Badgers โ€” we are so proud of you! ๐Ÿ’œ
