A trip to the local park! 🌳

Our children had a wonderful time spending the day outdoors, running, exploring and learning more about their local area. Trips into the community are an important part of our curriculum and something our children always enjoy and look forward to, as they help extend learning beyond the nursery environment.

Experiences like this support our children’s physical development, confidence, communication skills and understanding of the world around them.

A fun-filled outing full of fresh air, curiosity and exploration! 🌿✨

🚒 Firefighters’ Day 🔥

In our Rosycheeks room, our little ones took part in a firefighter-themed sensory activity to celebrate World Firefighters’ Day. The children explored coloured rice arranged to look like a glowing fire while also enjoying a story all about fire engines. 📚

Our children loved scooping, pouring, and letting the rice run through their fingers as they explored different textures, colours, and movements. Alongside this, the activity sparked conversations about firefighters and the important role they play in helping others.

This sensory experience supported fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, and early communication skills, while encouraging curiosity, focus, and exploration through play. ✨

🌿Indoor Outdoor Learning 🌿

With the weather getting nicer, we’ve been making the most of our beautiful nursery garden and spending lots of time outdoors! ☀️ Our children have loved exploring, playing, and learning in the fresh air.

We’re so lucky to have our big nursery garden and canopy, which allows for a free flow between indoor and outdoor learning. This creates a seamless environment where children can follow their interests, whether they choose to play inside or out.

Outdoor learning in the early years is so important, it supports physical development, encourages creativity and imagination, boosts wellbeing, and helps children build confidence as they explore the world around them. 🌼

We can’t wait to enjoy even more outdoor adventures as the seasons change!

🌸 Spring Adventures 🌸

We’ve loved making the most of spring in the lead up to Easter! Our children have been busy exploring and creating across our indoor and outdoor spaces. In Rosycheeks, the children enjoyed spring-themed activities and our relaxing spring spa, while Blossoms explored Forest School, investigated “sink or float,” and discovered all things science and space.

These activities supported physical development, early scientific thinking, and creativity, while building confidence, independence, and social skills. 🌱✨

Easter Family Event 🐣🌷

We loved welcoming our families into our nursery garden for our Easter event! This was the perfect opportunity to invite parents and carers into the setting and be part of their children’s learning journeys here at Rosedene. The garden was filled with a variety of Easter-themed activity areas, where our team spent time with families, sharing special moments and chatting about each child’s achievements at nursery.

Events like these help to strengthen partnerships with our families, supporting children’s confidence and sense of belonging. The children enjoyed exploring different activities alongside their loved ones, celebrating their progress and creating meaningful shared experiences. We finished the event with some lovely refreshments, giving everyone time to relax, connect, and enjoy the afternoon together.🌸

It was a pleasure to welcome The Rt Hon Anna Turley MP to visit us at nursery! 🦖🍋🍋‍🟩 📖

We showed Anna our oral health skills by demonstrating good teeth brushing on our dinosaurs; we made lemon & lime potions together in the garden; and our babies enjoyed stories in the wendy house.

Thank you for taking the time to visit us at

A Busy Week at Rosedene Saltburn 🌿📚

Last week we celebrated World Book Day, and we loved seeing all of the creative costumes our children and team came dressed in.

Throughout the day we shared our favourite stories, talked about which characters we were dressed as, and discussed why these books are so special to us. As the weather begins to brighten, we’ve also been making the most of it by spending lots of time outdoors, enjoying trips and fresh air adventures together. 🌤️🌿

World Book Day is a wonderful opportunity to inspire a love of reading in young children. Sharing stories helps to build imagination, language, and confidence while encouraging children to develop a lifelong love of books. 📚⭐️
