The children in Reception have had a fabulous first day in full time school. They did really well at dinnertime and sat beautifully through their first whole school assembly. They've enjoyed picking the apples off the tree and we will hopefully use them to make apple crumble and apple scones. See you all in the morning and well done.

We hope that everyone has had a lovely summer break. We have two professional development days next week so we reopen to pupils on Thursday 3rd September. Our free breakfast club will be open as normal from 8.10am with school starting at 8.40am. Enjoy the long weekend and we will see everyone next week.

The summer holidays may soon be over, but we are SO excited to welcome everyone back for another year of learning, laughter, friendship and fun! 📚✨

We are all deeply saddened by the tragic events of this weekend. We have always been so well supported by officers from Cleveland Police who have attended special events, talked in assembly and who have always been there when we needed them. The thoughts of our whole school community are with everyone affected by this terrible incident.

While we still have over a week of our fabulous summer break left, we know that parents and carers will be getting prepared for the start of the new school year. When buying uniform, please remember that there is no requirement to buy clothing with the school logo on - plain polo shirts and jumpers are absolutely fine and do work out cheaper. The children in Year 5 were visited today by Miss Watson (an ex-Lockwood pupil and teacher of English) and three students from Freebrough Academy. They shared books and read with our children before ending with a poem written by a student laureate which described the transition from Year 5 to Year 6. It was a beautiful poem and a fabulous visit. Our children enjoyed every book- we will buy some for our school library!

We have had a fabulous day at the farm today! The children were really well behaved and loved exploring, seeing the animals, playing on the park and in the sand pit. Ice creams were eaten, picnics were enjoyed and shopping was also done. Thank you to all the parents, grandparents and carers that came today too.
