I couldn’t begin to guess how many whiteboard pens I’ve used over the past 10 years.
Hundreds? Probably thousands.
They’ve written out equations, drawn graphs, worked through fractions and explained the same question in several different ways until one of them finally made sense.
They’ve recorded wrong answers, crossed-out attempts and plenty of “nearly there” moments.
But they’ve also written the answers students once thought they would never be able to find.
Every empty pen represents questions asked, mistakes made, confidence rebuilt and another student who kept going when maths felt difficult.
Ten years of Saltash Tutors has used an awful lot of whiteboard pens—but I wouldn’t change that for anything.
