Adventure Wrens Home Ed Childcare group:

I am passionate about children's wellbeing and providing nature-based and open ended opportunities to play and explore. We are lucky to have a nature reserve close by, a park around the corner and a river to explore, as well as a patio area to extend free play. We also enjoy many opportunities for local trips and adventures. I aim to provide a wide range of activities that naturally supports children's development, needs and interests. Children's input is highly valued and it is of the utmost importance that they feel settled and secure in our home from home setting. We build lasting group bonds where each individual personality can flourish.

£40 a day
Tax Free Childcare and Universal Credit Payments available

Small Group Tuition:

Home ed and after school groups focusing on raising self-esteem and confidence in Maths and English. I offer small group tuition with a focus on confidence and connection, that nurtures both academic growth and emotional wellbeing. It is my aim that children build confidence in English and Maths through a calm, encouraging environment where they feel safe to explore concepts and collaborate with each other. I take the time to understand each child's individual needs, helping them to develop key skills and the self-belief to use them; enabling them to discover joy in learning and feel pride in their progress. If you would like to arrange a time to discuss your family's childcare or tuition needs, please send me a message.

** New group starting in September **

This is an informal learning group for children aged 10-13 years. Sessions are weekly and cover both English and maths. Children will collaborate, share ideas and learn new skills through practical activities, games and focussed tasks. These also aim to raise self-esteem and develop wellbeing.

🧮 The maths in our first block is all about numbers: place value, negative, prime, lowest common factors, rounding, ‘real world’ numbers!

🖋️ Our English focus is poetry! Haikus, acrostic, concrete, free verse. We’ll be exploring many types of poem and the literary devices used within them, which will help the children to create their own poems.

🪷 We will use numbers to create wellbeing scales and our poems will focus on developing a sense of self.

📱 Please send a message for more information and to book your child’s space.

We’ve had such a great day pond-dipping! We found many pond creatures and used our guides to identify them. Favourites were the newt, dragonfly nymph, damselfly nymphs, fish and whirligig beetles! We also kept a tally of how many we found. And of course we stopped for a play in the shade at the park on the way back 🌿

Such a lovely day yesterday! We welcomed a new child to our little gang and enjoyed some board games and free play together.

We then headed over to Cotehele for some Cornish themed games! The children liked the pasty throwing and the cream tea race was lots of fun 😁

We also spent some time at the pond where the children sat and observed the different coloured damselflies flitting amongst the lilies. One rested on a child’s finger -then the boys spotted something on the underside of a lily-pad. They weren’t sure what it was so after a great discussion about the life-cycle of dragonflies, they realised it was a dragonfly nymph case!

We also spotted a newt and lots of water boatmen. Another child also discovered that a leaf had similar veins to his hands.

Squeezed in a play at the park and then back for even more play together in the afternoon.

We also continued to look at the ‘Zones of Regulation’ with a well-being activity.

** Fortnightly SPACE AVAILABLE at ADVENTURE WRENS **

Due to a lovely family now leaving us, we have a rare space coming up from June ‘25. We have a great group of lovely and lively boys aged 8-13 and would like to find another child to join us fortnightly on Wednesdays to join in with our play, exploration and adventures!

We are based in Saltash and enjoy playing with open ended toys, creating, having interesting conversations, making time for well-being and getting out in nature. We are lucky to have a nature reserve right by us, a brand new park that is about to open around the corner and lots of adventures in the wider area such as trips to Cotehele, the beach or The Box.

Please get in touch if you’d like your child to join us! 🌿

Agency registered -fully insured/DBS/paediatric first aid. £40 for the day, UC payments and Tax Free childcare accepted.
