Our preschoolers throughly enjoyed exploring the mud kitchen!

Through this activity they built on their creativity, enhanced communication, and developed their fine motor skills through play!

Washing their hands afterwards helped reinforce independence and self-care.

The best learning often comes with a little mud! 🤎✨

What an egg-citing week it has been! 🐣✨

Our pre-schoolers have loved watching the journey from egg to chick, eagerly checking on them each day!

It has been a wonderful opportunity to learn about life cycles, care, and growth through a truly hands-on experience.

We will miss our fluffy chicks after they go home this Friday! 💛🐥

Last week we celebrated World Book Day! We spent the day exploring different stories and discussing our favourite books! 📚✨

Last week at Melrose the children enjoyed a fun fizzy science activity! 🧪

They mixed colourful vinegar and baking soda and watched the exciting bubbles and fizz appear. The children loved observing the reaction and talking about what they could see and hear.

A great way to encourage curiosity, exploration and early science learning through play! ✨

This week our pre-schoolers have exploring bird nests and bird life cycles 🐣🪺 The children learned how birds collect natural materials to build safe homes for their eggs. We went outside to gather leaves, sticks and grass, then used them to create our own nests—just like real birds! 🌿

Every Thursday is cooking day at Melrose! 💙

This week we made carrot cake, focusing on fine motor skills. The children practised peeling, grating and pouring, strengthening the small muscles in their hands while building confidence and independence.

They were so proud of their delicious creation! 🥕✨

In our Toddler Room this week, we have been building fine motor skills, beginning to explore letters and phonics, recognising numbers, and learning through imaginative role play every day. 💙🔤🦺

These early experiences build confidence and communication skills and set the foundations for the pre-school room!
