Last week, Reception Class had a great time today learning the basics of coding to make their beebots move. Our digital leaders came to help with navigating the beebots around different maps and obstacles. It was wonderful to see such positive collaboration across the year groups, with our digital leaders showing patience, encouragement and excellent teamwork as they supported the Reception children.

Class 5 had a fantastic afternoon yesterday at South Wilts Grammar School, taking part in their physics workshop. The children had to work together to build trebuchets and their challenge was to launch a tennis ball into a bucket. Only one team were successful in getting a ball into the bucket but they had lots of very close attempts!

This week, Class 3 have been thinking about what relationships are and what they can look like.
They created relationship trees:
On the green leaves they wrote words associated with healthy positive relationships.
On the branches they wrote things they can do to create and sustain healthy, positive relationships.
On the orange (dead) leaves they wrote what negative relationships looked like and what made them negative.
On the roots they listed some of the people they have healthy, positive relationships with.

Class 5 had a brilliant start to the term, spending 2 days with Salisbury Museum and community artist Emma Kerr!

Their task was to create a companion for St. Christopher, the Salisbury Giant and the children worked collaboratively to design and create Gertrude, the giant’s grandmother.

Gertrude will spend the next couple of weeks with us at school before heading down to Salisbury Museum to be united with St. Christopher.

πŸ¦†βœ¨ What an exciting few weeks Reception have had! βœ¨πŸ¦†

The children have loved watching our ducklings hatch and have helped to care for them as they have grown. It has been wonderful to see the excitement and curiosity from the children throughout this special experience.

This week, every class across the school had the chance to visit the ducklings too, and there were lots of smiles all around!

Today, the ducklings are heading off to the farm to continue their adventures. We will miss them very much, but we have loved every moment of watching them grow. πŸ’›
