Building relationships and working together are just some of the skills we are thinking about at this time of year. Our older children have welcomed newcomers into their play and new friends are emerging which is heart warming to see.

This week we have been tuning into physical development. There has been a huge range of both fine and gross motor activities in offer to enable children to try something new as well as practise existing skills. Just look at the concentration on their faces!

This week we welcomed children back after the summer break. So lovely to see everyone again and a warm welcome to all our new families. Over the summer many areas have been refreshed with a coat of paint and new homely furnishings and resources. We like to offer real objects where we can to give children a richer and more authentic learning experience. For more information about our approach and what we do, don't hesitate to get in touch 😀

Hello, I hope you have all enjoyed the summer holidays, we are looking forward to seeing everyone back next week, from Monday 5th September 🙂

The children have enjoyed a variety of sensory water play experiences this week including ice, foam and jelly baff. With temperature a set to rise even further we shall continue with these activities next week too. Our final day of term is Friday 22nd July.For those moving on to school, we wish you well and shall miss you all! Don't forget the leavers party 12-2 on the last day of term. 😀🌞

Our favourite activities this week included den building and bathing the baby dolls. Term 6 is such a busy and exciting term so it's really important to provide time for children to be calm, relax and chat about how they feel. A den is perfect for this! Next week is set to be very hot and sunny so we shall be keeping cool with plenty of water play and calming activities in the shade. Have a lovely weekend everyone.🌞🌞🌞

It's been a swashbuckling pirate play kind of week at Busy Bees. The children built their own pirate ship, drew treasure maps, dug for treasure and had many hours of wonderful imaginative play. This kind of play draws upon almost every area of learning from negotiating with others to story telling, exploring shape and space to writing, talking about people and places to core strength and balance when you have to walk the plank!

It's been a bubbly water play kind of week at Busy Bees. We are fortunate to have a very shady outdoor area to keep us cool and safe from the sun. You may notice we don't insist on aprons for water play (or any messy play). This because many children find them restrictive and uncomfortable which distracts them from creative thinking and stops them from becoming deeply engaged in their play. We don't want children to feel their clothes are more important than their play and learning. Hope you all have a great weekend and fingers crossed summer is here to stay! 🌞🌤🌞
