Rewarding volunteering opportunity!

As part of building a love of reading 📖 and furthering fluency and opportunities to read across the school we are looking for Volunteer Readers who can come in weekly to read with learners within different classes. This will take place from 14:00-15:00 on Monday – Friday, depending on volunteer availability. The learners have books that they will read to you. You will need to sit, read and discuss what they have read in a fun and calm environment.

Scarecrow competition, join in the fun! 🤩

On Wednesday 22nd January, a school team went to Wyvern Academy for a Key Stage 2 Indoor Kurling competition from 9:30-11:30am. Our squad was made up of 3 teams of two players: Jacob and Macey, Rory and William and Tyler and Albie. All three teams played a number of group games, with two Whiteparish teams winning their groups and making it through to the top group, to contest medals. In the end Jacob and Macey got a bronze medal for being third out of 36 teams. A huge achievement which means they have now qualified for the county finals. Well done to all of the teams.

Dear Parents / Carers,

I write to you once again on a re-occuring but very serious issue. I remind you all that no-one other than Blue badge holders should park on the no parking white lines outside of school. Even blue badge holders can you please ensure that the pupil crossing is kept clear. The nature of the crossing means that parking either side of it blocks the view of those trying to cross and this places those crossing in danger.

This is not a whinge for the sake of it, this is about the safety of our pupils. I can not control the actions of everyone connected with the school, but look at yourself in the mirror and ask if you want your parking to be responsible for one of the school's children getting injured or worse.

I also remind those parents leaving the school site via the large school gate to ensure that your children are with you as you walk out onto the virtual pathway. A near miss was reported to me yesterday as a child ran out on to the road.

Road safety is important at all times, but even more so when driving and visibility worsens during the winter months.

I thank you in advance for ensuring that all of the children of Whiteparish are kept safe.
