Salisbury DJ Academy has been featured in this months email marketing campaign by our stage lighting supplier Betopper.

Back in April, when we hosted our huge, Party in the Square event in Salisbury Market Square in partnership with No Gimmicks and Salisbury City Council we knew we would have to bring out the big guns to light up such a large space!

Betopper's lighting products have played a core part of our DJ lighting setups (from small mobile disco setups to larger scale events like Party in the Square. Betopper have proven to be a reliable partner and their lighting products speak for themselves.

We used 4 x Betopper LF4808 LED Matrix Strobes, 8 x Betopper LPC1818 Stage PARs and a pair of their hybrid BSW200 Moving Heads to light up the Market Square on that night - and what a great night it turned out to be!

If you're looking for top quality, reliable lighting products to light up your events I highly recommend checking out their ever growing range of DJ and Stage lighting.

This is one for our DJ friends, bands, musicians and anyone who uses stage lighting as part of their setup.

I’m not usually one for doing unboxing, reviews or paid promotions on behalf of companies that offer to send us free stuff, but in this case I had to make an exception because I’ve been using their lighting products for a number of years now and I can safely say their products, service and after sales support is some of the best in the business.

For full transparency Betopper sent us one of their new lighting fixtures (free of charge) for us to test, review and give our honest feedback so here are my thoughts on their new LM1915P 19x15W LED Wash Moving Head with Halo Ring.

* First Impressions

This thing is BIG, bright and extremely lightweight - weighing in at just 6.5KG. It works straight out of the box and I was able to set it up straight away with my Wolfmix controller using the fixture profile that’s available in WTools.

* What’s in the box

The moving head comes with a 1M Power-con cable, high quality DMX cable, User Manual and Omega Clamp hanging bracket.

* Operating Modes
The fixture works in Stand-alone mode - Auto, Master / Slave, Sound to Light and can be controlled via DMX512 (28, 30 or 99CH Modes).

* Features

The light includes 19 x 15W RGBW LEDs, 114 x 0.2W RGB LEDs and 38 x 0.2W RGB LED ring.

Fully mappable pixel control with a vibrant colour palette allowing you to create some truly stunning eye candy effects.

Full strobe control of main LEDs and Halo Ring.

Pan, Tilt and Zoom control

* Overall Summary

I was truly blown away with this fixture, so much so I went online and ordered a 2nd one!

With it being a brand new, unreleased product I was kind of expecting to run into some teething problems with setup and getting the thing working, but I was wrong! It worked straight out of the box and I had it hooked up to the Wolfmix within a matter of minutes.

I love the eye candy effects this light can produce with its vibrant colour palette and bright LED matrix this light is sure to grab peoples attention at any event.I just want to say a massive thank you to Betopper for inviting me to join their beta testing program.

As someone who’s a bit of a lighting geek and has been a paying customer of theirs for several years, this was an opportunity that I couldn’t turn down!

If you’re looking for high quality, affordable lighting to light up your events, with the best after-sales support and a 2 year warranty go and check out Betopper's website and get yourself kitted out.

James Terry from J S Terry Photography has been a very busy boy this weekend.

Whilst we were taking cover from the rain under a huge tarpaulin and emptying buckets of water off the back of the stage, James was running around with his camera capturing the magic of Party at the Fayre.

Here are his photos from the event.

If you spot yourself in any of the photos and would like to order a print or digital file, please contact J S Terry Photography and he'll be more than happy to sort you out at a very reasonable price.

James is a fantastic photographer and we're very lucky to have him as part of our team at Salisbury DJ Academy. He's worked with us on some big events this year including Cafe Mambo Ibiza Easter Sunday Classics, Party in the Square, The Salisbury Music Awards, Time Festival and Beats N Eats at Dark Revolution. If you're in need of a professional event photographer he is your man!

As you can see by my sweaty head it was more than just a warmup. It was so hot & bright up on that stage James Terryfrom J S Terry Photography had his work cut out for him dealing with the sun, but as always he manages to capture the event perfectly.
