☀️🌑 Are you planning to watch the eclipse tomorrow evening? (12th August)
Budding Mad Scientists of Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire – you will potentially be able to see around 93% of the Sun obscured between 6:17pm and 8:06pm! Amazing!

BUT... 🌞👀 KEEP SAFE! Do not look directly at the Sun. As discussed at camp today, ordinary sunglasses are NOT enough! They make things darker but do not block out the Sun's Ultraviolet Rays or Infrared Rays!

😎🕶️ Wear Specialist Eclipse Glasses that meet ISO 12312-2, or create a pinhole projector from a cardboard box and watch the projection!
🔭 Do not view the solar eclipse through phone cameras, binoculars, or telescopes unless they are fitted with the correct solar filter!

🌎🌑☀️ THE SCIENCE! The Moon orbits the Earth, and the Earth orbits the Sun. Twice a year, these three celestial bodies line up so that the Moon passes within the Earth’s shadow, or vice versa. These periods are called eclipse seasons.

This solar eclipse will be best viewed in the UK as a deep partial eclipse (with up to 96% coverage in places), and as a rare total solar eclipse across Greenland, Iceland, and northern Spain!
