An amazing afternoon of planning and preparation for the set and props for Aladdin… with our amazing Drama Leader stage manager. It was fantastic to have some quiet time away from our club nights to listen to her and discuss how we’re going to make everything we need! Thank you for coming poppet and thank you to the parents for dropping her off and picking her up!! 💕💕🥳💖

At Drama Club Salisbury Tuesday group last night, we spent some time before we continued on with our Aladdin rehearsals thinking about how we want to feel at the end of the production. I spoke to the children from my heart about how it’s taken many many years to realise that the most important person to impress and make proud is… myself. So we each took some time to write letters to ourselves not only congratulate ourselves for completing the production but I also used it as an opportunity to get the children thinking about what qualities they wanted to applaud themselves for developing and using through the process… to set their tone of behaviour and standards… the children wrote of their resilience when it was tough, they wrote with so much compassion for any mistakes and an overwhelming love for themselves and pride for giving it their best. It was an amazing exercise and so moving for me too. I wrote to myself of finding the joy and laughter in each rehearsal, (which is easy to forget when you’re striving to achieve)… I was thinking on my walk this morning that I would have loved this tool a little earlier on in life, so I hope this post inspires you too. I had to jump on the band wagon on this one… he’s made my life so much richer and better. Not in one huge grand gesture way. Just every day in so many ways. I show up for him and get out in nature every day no excuses… we go on regular adventures I never thought I’d be able to do, when I started running more and more he was right there with me happy to go any time of day for every run. When I hurt myself or if I’m ill or simply reading my book he will sit quietly with me for hours and hours. Then he has the most ridiculous personality (especially if chicken or tuna is involved)… he cracks me. He is also such a clever boy! Just how I like them!! My sweet dog Alfie. Thank you for all you bring to my table my little angel piggy traffic cone… thank you for every day dear darling. I love you x x x
