We are aware of ongoing community concern following reports of suspicious incidents in Salisbury over the past few days, these involve allegations of men in cars approaching children.
We understand that these incidents have caused worry within the community, particularly amongst parents and carers.
Wiltshire Police are treating each report seriously and extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances and identify those involved.
It is important to remain vigilant. However, officers are asking the public to allow them time to carry out their enquiries and establish the facts of what has occurred.
We are keen to hear from anyone who may have information that could assist our investigations, including any CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage relevant to these incidents.
DI Eirin Martin said: “We take reports of this nature very seriously, however, we would like to caution that speculation on social media and sharing of unverified information can cause unnecessary alarm and may hinder ongoing investigations.
“We encourage parents to take the opportunity to speak to their children about personal safety and what they should do if they ever feel uncomfortable or unsafe.”
If you have any concerns or information you should continue to report by calling 101.
In an emergency always call 999.
