South Hills, St Peters, celebrated the end of the academic year with a party, combined with saying a bitter-sweet farewell to our preschool leavers. We were lucky enough to mark this occasion with a bouncy castle party that was made possible with the combined donations from the cake sale & teddy toddle.

The team at St Peters Nursery would like to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone for their kindness and support shown through your lovely words, cards and gifts. We are truly touched by your generosity and appreciation. Thank you all so much, from the bottom of our hearts!

To all of our preschoolers, we wish you all the best for the exciting and new adventures that lie ahead. We hope you have a fantastic time exploring, learning, and making new friends. And to our returning families, and new starters, we are looking forward to starting the new academic year together. As always, we eagerly await the opportunity for us to grow and learn as a community, and we can’t wait to share this journey with you!

What an amazing Party we had at Burcombe today. The children were all amazing and we hope they had the best time. The entertainer had all the children laughing and smiling from ear to ear. Thank you Burcombe family for a really good year and we will see most of you in September. To all the children going of to school we will miss you lots.

We would like to say a big thank you to Farnfields Solicitors who have been working with The Men's Shed and have kindly donated a bird box to Old School Nursery.
The children are excited to welcome new visitors to the garden where they can use their binoculars to see the birds up close and use their listening ears to hear their singing 🐦 🎶

South Hills Old School Nursery are currently looking for someone to join the team on a temporary basis during the Summer holidays, with the potential for this to become a permanent position.

What a fantastic trip some of Owl class from Bemerton had today! We had the lovely chance to visit Katrina's farm, where the children could finally see all the wonderful things they had heard about. They freely explored the grounds and used their wonderful memories to recall things that Katrina had shared, such as the Hedgehog and Owl houses, the fossil and the pear tree. The children were delighted to find and gather so many eggs from the coop, and the chickens truly appreciated the bread and bananas they fed them. The children also collected beautiful flowers and created patterns and objects with play dough. After enjoying a drink and a snack, they joyfully raced around the garden, rolled down the hill, played hide and seek in the wooden house, and even scored goals. Although the children were quite tired on the minibus ride home, they excitedly chatted about everything they had seen and experienced, declaring, "it's been the best day ever."

WOW! A super busy end to another term.
The St Peters children hosted not one, but two cake sales and our annual 'teddy toddle' (sponsored walk) to raise funds for our Nursery garden and end of year/leavers party.

We wanted to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who provided us with cakes, made donations, and offered us your spare time. We are overwhelmed with the support and look forward to sharing our final figure with you, once all sponsorship donations have been received and counted.

The children have been enjoying the warmer weather that has snuck upon us. They have also been quite resourceful in finding different ways to keep cool during these sunny days, at the same time, they have been mindful and attentive to our garden environments, spending time tending to the flowers and plants. In addition to this, we have completed our project where we successfully released our froglets, butterflies, and ladybirds back into the wild. This followed a productive life cycle where the children observed and learned a great deal about these individual creatures and their growth processes. To further their understanding of the world, the children participated in a farm trip where they were able to learn about our farmyard friends, help to feed them, and learn about their care.

What a wonderful morning we had at Bemerton in the woods! With our binoculars in hand, we set off to find the aliens who have been taking our underpants! We searched high and low and discovered many signs that they had been around, like holes made by their spaceships when they landed, spots where the aliens had slept, and a big red hat they left behind! As we continued exploring, guess what we found? Our underpants!! The aliens had hidden them in the trees. We joyfully collected them, and then we kept on exploring the rest of the woods. We even heard the spaceship take off and zoom above us. What an adventure it was! We can't wait to create our own underpants back at nursery.

South Hills Old School Nursery, Great Cheverell are looking for people to join their team as bank staff to cover ad-hoc days as needed. No qualifications needed, experience preferable. The right candidate would need to be available during the school holidays as this is when cover is needed most.
