🍪 Rachel's Recipe of the Month 🍪
For this months ‘Recipe of the Month’ I’m going to share with you my Nan’s shortbread recipe.
This recipe was always one of my favourites to make around Christmas time, and is lovely with a chocolate coating.
Original recipe – Makes 16 pieces
200g Melted Butter (you can use Dairy free butter too)
270g Plain Flour
125g Self Raising Flour
2 tbsp Cornflour
100g Caster Sugar
Method
STEP 1 - Put all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix.
STEP 2 - Add the melted butter and mix well until dough like texture.
STEP 3 - Spread mixture out into a shallow tin and prick with a fork. Or you can roll it out and cut shapes from it.
STEP 4 - Bake in the oven at 180c for 20-30 minutes, until golden brown.
STEP 5 - Take out and cool in tin, sprinkle sugar on top or dip in melted chocolate (if required).
Hope you enjoy
Rachel xx

World Nursery Rhyme Week!
Singing is so important to a child's early communication development; it supports speech, vocabulary, memory recall, and of course if you throw in some actions it helps with their co-ordination and gross and fine motor skills 😊
Here at Noah's Ark singing is part of each area's daily routine, the children love to show off their beautiful singing voices and funky dance moves!
Splish splash and welcome to day 2 of World Nursery Rhyme Week. Today’s rhyme is ‘1,2,3,4,5 (once I caught a fish alive)’.
This rhyme was first recorded in Mother Goose's Melody around 1765 and featured a Hare, not a fish!
We love the rhyming element in this one and it’s the perfect counting song for our young rhymers.
