𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗴𝘆𝗽𝘁

As part of their History topic, Willow Class worked in groups to research part of Egyptian society. They became the experts and then designed their own part of our pyramid, which is now proudly displayed on our working wall. Children loved sharing all they had learnt with their classmates.

This year for Poetry Week the theme is “Wonder”, and we’ve been busy creating our very own class poems, which we can’t wait to share at our Celebration Assembly on Friday.

Today is National Poetry Day, so we took our poetry joy out into the community, delivering poetry postcards around West Tytherley. 💌

We hope our little poems and illustrations brought a smile to everyone who found one land on their doormat!

𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗕𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 🚲

Over the past two days, our Year 6 pupils have taken part in Bikeability, the UK’s national cycle training programme, which helps children develop their cycling skills, confidence and road safety awareness.

We are incredibly proud of all our Year 6s, who have successfully achieved Bikeability Level 2!

To celebrate their hard work and achievement, pupils will receive their certificates and badges during our Celebration Assembly on Friday.
Well done, Year 6! 👏🚴

✨ 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘆 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁! 👩‍🎨

Today, Willow Class took advantage of the beautiful autumn weather and took their art lesson outside…

Instead of recreating Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’ on paper, they used chalk to replicate the swirling patterns of the night sky. Children had to think about scale and making their swirls the correct size for the space they had to fill. We are so impressed with the results! ✨

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ 𝗞𝗦𝟮 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

What a fantastic first cluster event of the academic year! Our team of runners showed incredible determination and should be so proud of themselves. 🌟

What made us especially proud was the way they supported one another, cheering on their friends, celebrating every finish and showing such wonderful team spirit.

A special congratulations to our Year 5 who won Silver 🥈and Year 4 taking Bronze 🥉!

A huge thank you to all the cluster schools and organisers for such a fantastic event, to Danebury School for hosting us, and finally to the sun for making an appearance after such a soggy morning! 🌧️ ☀️

𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝗮𝗸 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀

Oak have jumped into their place value unit in maths with a competition! They were given a number and challenged to see which team could use their maths skills and resources to represent it the most ways. One team managed to find 54 different ways to represent 1423 including drawing part-whole models and some very creative calculations with counters and cubes. 🧮

What a wonderful morning! We welcomed our parents and carers to join us for a yummy breakfast and to spend some special time exploring books together.

Thank you to everyone who came along - it was a lovely way to start the day!

🌳 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲, 𝗕𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀! 🌳

What a wonderful first morning at school! We’ve already crammed so much into the morning and it’s been lovely getting to know our new pupils.

✨ Our first phonics lesson — learning the sound ‘s’
✨ Exploring all the different areas of our classroom
✨ Visiting the library
✨ Talking about our emotions through “The Colour Monster”
✨ Making new friends and settling into our routines

As expected, our other classes were fantastic at playtime and made all our new children feel so welcome. We know they’ll settle in quickly and we’re looking forward to a wonderful year together!

🏫 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸! 🍂

We hope our wonderful West Tytherley community has had a happy and relaxing summer. We can’t wait to hear all about your adventures!

A very warm welcome back to Chestnut, Willow and Oak Class on Thursday 3rd September. We’re also looking forward to seeing our new Beech Class children during their home visits on Thursday and Friday, before their first day at school on Monday 7th September. 🌳

We know some children may be experiencing the back to school scaries, so school will be open from 2.00pm today (Wednesday 2nd September) for any children that would benefit from saying hello to their teachers, peeking in their classrooms and exploring the school site.

We can’t wait to help all our children settle back into school life at West Tytherley. We’re excited for a fantastic term ahead and look forward to sharing their learning journeys, wonderful moments and achievements with you all.
