Understanding SEN Support: Why It's Vital for Inclusive Communities - Sen Support 20/04/2023

👉 UNDERSTANDING SEN SUPPORT: WHY IT’S VITAL FOR INCLUSIVE COMMUNITIES

Understanding SEN Support – Inclusive communities are those that embrace diversity and strive to support all members, including those with special educational needs (SEN). SEN refers to a range of learning differences, disabilities, or developmental delays that may affect a person’s ability to access education or participate fully in community life. To ensure that individuals with SEN have equal opportunities and can thrive in their communities, SEN support plays a critical role.

💡In this blog, we will explore what SEN support entails and why it is essential in creating inclusive communities.

1-1 Coaching - Sen Support 02/03/2023

Providing Home Tutoring and Support in Salisbury and Wiltshire

I provide 1:1 coaching for children whose emotions need regulating and to provide improved support for their mental well-being. Most of these children require additional help with their education because they find that the noise, hustle and bustle of the classroom causes them distraction, or loss of concentration. These children need additional encouragement to engage with the learning process. Ultimately, they benefit from 1:1 coaching where the teacher has more time to engage with them and can tailor the learning process to that individual child’s needs. Often that can only happen through home coaching.

I use a combination of my personal and professional experience and training to provide 1:1 coaching. I employ a combination of CBT and emotional regulation techniques to support your child’s mental health and behaviour.

SEN-Support UK’s main aim is to ensure that the local neurodivergent community is able to access independent support, within the Salisbury/Wiltshire Area, to further their unique talents and gifts outside of a mainstream school environment.

SEN-support UK does this by offering to assist in the creation of peer support groups, and achieves this through training and mentoring, within a local neuro-diverse development-hub and by organising workshops and activities that boast personal development in the heart of our local community (For Expl.: Dyslexic (young) Writer’s). We subscribe to a truly holistic approach to support the whole family’s needs.

SEN-support UK accomplishes this by using it’s (amounting to more than 25 years being active in-house expertise and experience in teaching, counselling, course development, systemic thinking, Social Work, Family and relationship sciences, working with industry and bespoke SEN support packages (applied in home support/collaboration with school, Home Schooling, Flexi-schooling and Home educational settings).

SEN-support UK couples this expertise with an active collaboration with local organisations and providers to ensure that our neurodivergent community has a chance to develop their voice and, most importantly, feels supported in carving out projects that enables everyone involved to feel valued as a part of our local community under the inclusivity/progress banner.
