Wiltshire Breastfeeding Support

Chippenham Breastfeeding Group
Monday, 24th August, 10-11:30 at the Family Hub on Monkton Hill, Chippenham.
Come along for support from ABM-trained peer supporters Sam and Nadia at whatever stage of breastfeeding you're at.
We also welcome breastfeeding families who want to come along for a chat and a play with their little ones. We have lots of space, comfy sofas, toys, and access to the sensory room.
Parking is free (please register at reception), or we're very close to local public transport.
You're welcome to bring snacks for your little ones to enjoy, and we can provide water/squash; however, due to risk assessments at the venue, no hot drinks will be provided, and we ask that you don't bring your own, please.

Unfortunately we are unable to run our Devizes group today (21st August) and will probably not be able to run for the next few weeks.

Our Calne group is running to tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday 19h August).

Drop-in anytime from 1pm until 2:30pm, for feeding support, to chat to other breastfeeding families.

We will be in the Harris function room, in the Lansdowne Strand. To find us, turn left after coming in through the main doors.

The group is free to attend, with no need to book, and you are welcome to bring any age of child along with you.

I'm afraid we won't be running either our Calne or Devizes groups again this week (Wednesday 12th and Friday 14th), due to not having sufficient volunteers available.

Chippenham Breastfeeding Group

We are looking forward to hosting a summer session tomorrow at the Family Hub at Monkton Park.

Peer supporters Sam, Sophie and Nadia will be there to offer support at whatever stage of your breastfeeding journey you are at in our lovely spacious venue downstairs at the Wiltshire Council building. Or come along for a chat with other breastfeeding families.

Free parking is available (please register with reception) or we are a very short walk from the town centre and local bus stops.

There is space and toys for little ones to play and we have access to the hub sensory room most weeks.

We can provide water/squash but politely request that you do not bring any hot drinks (due to the chances of them being knocked over!)

Just a quick note that due to it being the summer holidays volunteers will often have their own children with them so it may be a little busier than normal so do be patient if they are a little distracted! Do let us know on arrival if you need support with a specific issue so we don't miss you!

There are a few different organisations across Wiltshire who provide free infant feeding support groups. These groups are run by volunteers, and we need more, not only to keep our current groups running, but to start new groups, in areas that currently don’t have any.

In exchange for volunteering at a group, we'll pay to get you fully trained. The only requirement to do the training, other than a commitment to volunteer, is that you have breastfed for at least 6 months (whether you have just reached the 6 month mark with your first baby, or you breastfeed your child 40 years ago).

Our Devizes group is on tomorrow afternoon (Friday 17th) at Optimum Corner.

Meet other new and expectant parents, have a hot or cold drink (there's cold water in the fridge, and a variety of squashes to go with it) and if you have any feeding concerns, you can discuss them with a fully qualified Breastfeeding Counsellor.

There's toys for all ages of children, and scales are available, should you wish to weigh your baby.
