October half-term Carp Camp is back! 🎣

After some fantastic summer camps full of personal bests, first twenties, new skills and first overnight fishing trips, we’re doing it all again.

A proper overnight carp fishing experience for young anglers ready to learn more, build confidence and enjoy a great couple of days on the bank.

Another carp camp delivered multiple Pb's, this time is was 5 up and coming anglers that went home with new bests.

But its not just the weights, new skills, new knowledge, and new friendships also gained.

Thanks to Sandy and Stephen at the prolific Shallowbrook Lakes for perfect teaching venue and making sure everyone was well fed and watered.

And a shout to KC Baits for once again providing the particle and boilies for another carp camp. The carp certainly love them.

**Another Amazing Junior Carp Camp 🎣**

We have just wrapped up another brilliant Junior Carp Camp at Shallowbrook Lakes, and what a camp it was.

This time we had a smaller group of 4 young anglers, aged 11 to 15, all with a good level of intermediate angling knowledge. That gave us the perfect chance to really focus on skills, decision-making, fish care and confidence on the bank.

Across the camp, the group fished for **28 hours** and landed **28 carp**, with a total weight of over **400lb**, plus a handful of Meadow Lake’s big bream.

Everyone achieved at least one new personal best. Some doubled their PB, then doubled it again.

But Carp Camp is never just about the numbers.

It is about teamwork, friendships, confidence, problem-solving, fish care and memories that will stay with them for years. Catching fish gives young anglers the chance to practise properly — from setting the landing net, preparing the unhooking mat, weighing safely, taking photos and returning each fish carefully.

A huge thank you to Shallowbrook Lakes for fantastic hosting throughout the camp, including excellent food delivered straight to the swim — proper bankside service!

The camp was packed with learning. We covered marker work, clipping up, baiting with catapults, spods and bait boats, rig tying, balanced baits and choosing the right approach as conditions changed.

A real highlight was making bait with KC baits,@, then casting it out and catching fish on it almost immediately. The carp were absolutely ravenous — the bait buckets were emptied, then the contingency bait, and finally the emergency supplies!

Huge thanks to KC Baits for supporting the camp, and to our volunteers Laura, on her first Carp Camp, and young Harry, who is now a proper Carp Camp veteran.

Junior Carp Camp is about learning, nurture and memories. The skills these young anglers have taken away will help them catch carp for decades to come.

Well done to every single one of them. You were a credit to yourselves and your families.
