๐ World Bee Day in Aliceโs Class ๐
Our younger preschool children in Aliceโs class have been busy celebrating World Bee Day in the sweetest way! ๐
Together, they created their very own beautiful bee hive, filling each honeycomb with kind and thoughtful messages. From โbee kindโ to โbee happyโ, the children explored what it means to be a good friend and how small acts of kindness can make a big difference ๐โจ
Alongside this, the children enjoyed exploring our bee-themed activities, learning about bees, their homes, and why they are so important to our world ๐ผ๐ฏ
Itโs been a lovely way to introduce early discussions around kindness, caring for others, and working togetherโjust like bees do in a hive! ๐

๐๐ผ **World Bee Day in Mrs Mardellโs Class** ๐ผ๐
Today, our busy little learners in Mrs Mardellโs class have been celebrating World Bee Day through lots of fun, hands-on activities!
The children have been exploring the fascinating world of bees โ learning all about **pollination**, how bees help flowers grow, and why they are so important for our planet. We talked about **hives** and how bees work together as a team, each with their own special job.
Did you knowโฆ
๐ Bees communicate by doing a little โwaggle danceโ!
๐ฏ One bee will make just a tiny amount of honey in its lifetime
๐ธ Bees help to pollinate around a third of the food we eat!
The children took part in a range of playful activities to bring their learning to life, helping them understand these big ideas in a fun and meaningful way.
At nursery, we love creating opportunities like this where learning happens naturally through play, curiosity, and exploration โ and today was certainly buzzing with excitement! ๐๐

Last week, the children in Mrs Mardellโs class took part in some lovely activities to mark Mental Health Awareness Week ๐งโโ๏ธ๐
โจ
They enjoyed yoga sessions, relaxing face masks, and even some nail painting โ all of which were a big hit and gave the children a chance to slow down, have fun, and spend time focusing on themselves and each other.
While these activities were a lovely way to recognise the week, supporting childrenโs mental health and wellbeing is something we prioritise every single day in nursery. Through our nurturing relationships, consistent routines, opportunities to express emotions, and creating a safe, supportive environment, we help children build confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self.
For us, itโs about the everyday moments โ listening, comforting, encouraging, and celebrating each child โ not just the special activities ๐

Yesterday in Mrs Mardellโs Class, the children enjoyed making fruit skewers for snack, using a variety of fruits. They chatted about their favourites, healthy eating, and how fruit is very good for us. It was lovely to see some children trying fruits they had previously disliked and discovering they now enjoy them! ๐๐๐๐ซ
