๐Ÿ World Bee Day in Aliceโ€™s Class ๐Ÿ

Our younger preschool children in Aliceโ€™s class have been busy celebrating World Bee Day in the sweetest way! ๐Ÿ’›

Together, they created their very own beautiful bee hive, filling each honeycomb with kind and thoughtful messages. From โ€œbee kindโ€ to โ€œbee happyโ€, the children explored what it means to be a good friend and how small acts of kindness can make a big difference ๐Ÿโœจ

Alongside this, the children enjoyed exploring our bee-themed activities, learning about bees, their homes, and why they are so important to our world ๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿฏ

Itโ€™s been a lovely way to introduce early discussions around kindness, caring for others, and working togetherโ€”just like bees do in a hive! ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ๐ŸŒผ **World Bee Day in Mrs Mardellโ€™s Class** ๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿ

Today, our busy little learners in Mrs Mardellโ€™s class have been celebrating World Bee Day through lots of fun, hands-on activities!

The children have been exploring the fascinating world of bees โ€“ learning all about **pollination**, how bees help flowers grow, and why they are so important for our planet. We talked about **hives** and how bees work together as a team, each with their own special job.

Did you knowโ€ฆ
๐Ÿ Bees communicate by doing a little โ€œwaggle danceโ€!
๐Ÿฏ One bee will make just a tiny amount of honey in its lifetime
๐ŸŒธ Bees help to pollinate around a third of the food we eat!

The children took part in a range of playful activities to bring their learning to life, helping them understand these big ideas in a fun and meaningful way.

At nursery, we love creating opportunities like this where learning happens naturally through play, curiosity, and exploration โ€“ and today was certainly buzzing with excitement! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’›

Last week, the children in Mrs Mardellโ€™s class took part in some lovely activities to mark Mental Health Awareness Week ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’…โœจ

They enjoyed yoga sessions, relaxing face masks, and even some nail painting โ€“ all of which were a big hit and gave the children a chance to slow down, have fun, and spend time focusing on themselves and each other.

While these activities were a lovely way to recognise the week, supporting childrenโ€™s mental health and wellbeing is something we prioritise every single day in nursery. Through our nurturing relationships, consistent routines, opportunities to express emotions, and creating a safe, supportive environment, we help children build confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self.

For us, itโ€™s about the everyday moments โ€“ listening, comforting, encouraging, and celebrating each child โ€“ not just the special activities ๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŽถโœจ Jo Jingles Fun! โœจ๐ŸŽถ

Our younger Squirrels and Village class children had a fantastic time during their Jo Jingles music and movement session! ๐Ÿฟ๏ธ๐Ÿก

The children loved exploring a range of instruments โ€“ shaking, tapping and making lots of joyful noise as they moved along to the music. ๐Ÿฅ๐ŸŽต It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they joined in with the actions and rhythms.

There was even a magical disco light shining across the floors and ceilings, which the children were fascinated by, along with a bubble machine that filled the room with floating bubbles โ€“ adding even more excitement and wonder to the session! ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿซง

A lovely, lively experience that supports coordination, listening skills and lots of smiles all round ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’›

Our preschool children have been busy exploring the fascinating world of bugs and mini beasts! ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ

Through a range of hands-on activities, the children have been learning all about different creatures and their life cycles โ€” from tiny eggs to fully grown insects. Theyโ€™ve been observing, discussing, and asking lots of brilliant questions, showing great curiosity about the natural world around them. ๐ŸŒฑ

These activities help to build important early learning skills, including understanding the world, developing language, and encouraging careful observation. Itโ€™s been lovely to see the children so engaged and excited in their learning!

Take a look at some of the wonderful moments captured ๐Ÿ“ธ

Yesterday in Mrs Mardellโ€™s Class, the children enjoyed making fruit skewers for snack, using a variety of fruits. They chatted about their favourites, healthy eating, and how fruit is very good for us. It was lovely to see some children trying fruits they had previously disliked and discovering they now enjoy them! ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŽ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿซ
