Eid al Adha (Day of Festivity) is celebrated to mark the completion of Hajj (pilgrimage) to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The day also commemorates Prophet Abraham's total obedience to God when he made a great sacrifice in the valley of Mina after being commanded to do so by God. Muslims around the world will remember the hungry at this time and share food so that the poor can also enjoy a good feast on this day.
Eid prayer will take place at 10:30am at the Faith Centre.

We send special greetings to all staff and students celebrating the festival of Shavuot. Today commemorates the giving of the Torah, the five books of Moses, on Mount Sinai and is an important day in the Jewish calendar.
Prayers are said, to thank God for the Torah. Some people will spend the first night of Shavuot studying the Torah.
Synagogues are decorated with flowers and plants to remember the flowers of Mount Sinai. It is also traditional for dairy products to be eaten during this time.
