Children need and at home in order to learn, grow and develop into confident, mature and respectful adults.
In households where young people regularly witness and abuse however, this is made all the more difficult, with the things they see and hear taking a huge toll on their physical, emotional and .
Young people affected by domestic abuse often withdraw from participating in social activities with their peers, and thus find it more difficult to make friends. Their school life and work also commonly suffers as a result of low self-esteem and, sometimes, even guilt as they feel they are somehow to blame for the abuse they see at home every day.
Here at the EdStart Foundation, we're committed to the and of all young people across the region. We work and engage with those living in some of our most deprived and communities where, sadly, can be more prevalent.

Disadvantage and difficulties in forming with their peers often go hand in hand for a great many young people across the UK.
Sadly, children with , and/or living in are also at increased risk of becoming victims of which can have a significant and negative impact on their mental health, lead to social withdrawal and impede their performance at school.
