This week at Barton Moss Nursery, we created our very own Colour Monster! 🎨 Using our fine motor skills, we carefully squeezed pipettes to drip colourful water onto our monster. We explored different colours, talked about what we chose, and how they connect to our feelings. We also shared an important reminder — everyone experiences different emotions at different times, and that’s perfectly okay. 💛

🎶 Baby Bears Band in Action! 🎶
Our Baby Bears at Winton Nursery have been getting creative and making lots of noise in the best possible way! 🥁✨
The children created their very own band using a range of household objects, exploring how different items can make different sounds. From banging and tapping to shaking and clattering, they loved discovering the variety of noises they could create 🎵
This hands on activity encouraged the children to express themselves, build confidence, and explore early musical skills while having lots of fun together 💛
Well done, Baby Bears we loved your amazing band! 🌟

This week at Winton Nursery our Busy Bees children have been exploring ways to support their wellbeing through fun and calming activities.
The children enjoyed learning different breathing techniques, pretending to blow out candles and taking slow, gentle breaths. They also listened to calming music, helping them to relax and feel peaceful.
A favourite activity was smelling flowers, encouraging the children to take deep breaths in and notice how it made their bodies feel calm and happy.
These simple experiences help children begin to understand their feelings and learn ways to manage them positively.

At Barton Moss Nursery, bubbles bring so much joy to our baby room.
Feeling safe, secure, and happy is at the heart of every child’s development and wellbeing.
Our grown‑ups spend quality time exploring, playing, and building trusting relationships with us, creating an environment that is friendly, caring, and full of smiles. This helps us grow with confidence and reach our full potential.

We’re going on a walk, we’re going exploring—it’s such a beautiful day! We encourage our Barton Babies to walk whenever possible, and being outdoors helps us discover new sights, sounds, and natural treasures like sticks and leaves.
This Mental Health Week, get outside and see what you can find—and don’t forget to send us lots of photos of your adventures!

Today at Forest School, we went on a “bear hunt” wellbeing walk. We used our senses by smelling the flowers, feeling the soft, wavy grass, and splashing in cold, squelchy muddy puddles. We listened to birds singing and leaves rustling in the breeze.
Then, to our surprise, we found a bear hiding in a dark cave! We enjoyed cuddles with our Bear and talked about being kind and caring to one another.

Wellbeing Wednesday! This week at Higher Broughton we have been taking part in some activities to promote mental health week. In our baby room we have been moving our bodies to different types of music and added in some materials to explore. The children smiled, wiggled and danced with the colourful materials throughout the activity. Engaging in movement and music activities supports emotional wellbeing allowing children to express themselves, its also good for social skills, physical health and provides a positive atmosphere which creates a joyful environment which enhances children's overall wellbeing. At Higher Broughton nursery over the last couple of weeks we have been lucky enough to have the chicks with us, they arrived in the incubator and we waited for them to hatch, the children kept checking to see if they were 'ready' yet saying "come on chick you can do it" until they come out of the egg. This learning experience created lots of opportunities for speech and language development, another child commented "its magic". The children got the chance to get up close with the chicks and stroke them learning about how we look after animals and how to be gentle.
