Kuk Sool Won of Salford

I was reminded today of why we do what we do.

This morning, I ran a 5k with some of the gang from . This was the third run in the K*k Sool Trail Series, a collection of runs throughout the year with all proceeds going to Halton Cancer Support Group.

It was fantastic to see so many people make the journey out of town to be a part of something bigger. No competing for the best time, no medals, just a group of people all out there getting involved for a great cause.

For me, that’s what K*k Sool should be. Yes, we train to be good martial artists, but more importantly, we build a strong community filled with good people.

Some of the best memories I’ve made in the last two years have been from getting to do what I love, with people that have become my closest friends.

From belting out the tunes on a four hour road trip to tournament, to picking each other up off the mats after a tough testing session, we support each other, every step of the way.

If you’re looking for somewhere to train hard, have a laugh, and be surrounded by great people, come visit us. Everyone is welcome.

This is what it’s all about.

Working hard, being part of a community where people push each other to keep getting better, and having the best time doing it.

A huge well done to all of our students who earned a new belt on Friday night.

A huge well done to team Salford at the WKSA UK Tournament this weekend. Everyone did such a fantastic job!

We bagged a variety of medals, a Grand Champion trophy, and even managed to place in the top 10 schools with only 10 competitors!

Back home from a 500 mile round trip to Norwich to participate in National Black Belt Testing with some of the gang from . A huge well done to everyone who tested!

A great day in Rotterdam competing in the Dutch tournament. KSN Sean came away as second Dahn 18-36 male Grand Champion, with 3 golds, 2 silvers and a bronze.

Great weekend at the WKSA European tournament, coming away with a total of 7 gold medals, a bronze medal, and a Grand Champion trophy.

The demo was also fantastic!
