Some photos from our events as part of The 2022 ESRC Social Science Festival this year.
We ran two events at Pendleton and Eccles Gateways called 'Postcards from Salford'. It was all about getting out and talking to people and learning about their favourite places to visit across the City.
Salford Quays, Media City, Peel Park, Salford Museum, Monton, Worlsey and the Roe Green Looplines were popular places peoples liked to visit.
People felt it was important to be able to have access to spaces that were free or low cost, with good activities and enjoyable outdoor spaces.
We managed to speak with over 40 people who shared their stories and memories of Salford, so thank you for everyone who stopped by to chat.

Hello everyone just wanted to let everyone know about a project about Salford in the 1960s-70s called The Modern Backdrop.
https://hub.salford.ac.uk/modern-salford/
There will also be a free public talk next Friday afternoon at Salford University about memories of community over time and Salford in film and TV in the 1960s, if anyone was interested in popping along.
I will be talking about my PhD research and how a community on one estate changes over time, from the resident point of view.

Hello everyone - just asking for some advice from the community on our research project.
The project is looking to talk to older people to inform initiatives actively supporting older people to remain connected with the world around them.
So I wanted to ask how people think we should involve the community -
WHERE - What places should we go to talk to people? Let us know any community groups, places or activities you think we should be getting in touch with
HOW - How should we involve older people and the community? Interviews, focus groups, using photos, online or in person, using maps, guided tours or walks, visits - let us know
