🔍 Sealife Centre 🔎

What a wonderful way to end the week!

Some of our Willow Tree children embarked on an exciting adventure to Sea Life, where they explored the incredible wonders of the underwater world.

From mesmerising jellyfish and fascinating sharks to colourful coral reefs and so much more, there was something amazing to discover around every corner. The children loved learning about the different sea creatures, asking lots of questions, and sharing their excitement throughout the day.

A fantastic day filled with exploration, curiosity, and unforgettable memories!

🍋 Fresh Lemonade Fundraiser! 🍋

Our children at Willow Tree have been busy making their very own homemade lemonade! From squeezing fresh lemons by hand and mixing in honey - to the all-important taste test, everyone had lots of fun getting involved.

Once it was ready, we set up our very own lemonade stall in the Owls Garden, where our lovely parents and carers came along to support us. What a fantastic way to kick-start our fundraising as we celebrate Elmscot's 25th birthday! 🎉

To mark this amazing milestone, we're proud to be raising money for Cheshire and Trafford Young Carers, an incredible charity that supports young carers in our local community.

If you'd like to support this wonderful cause, you can donate using the JustGiving link below or by scanning the QR code outside the nursery.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us so far—we couldn't do it without you!

Keep your eyes peeled for more exciting fundraising events coming soon! 👀✨

🦖 Manchester Museum Adventure! 🦖

This week some of our Willow Tree children have ventured off to Manchester Museum, and we can't wait to hear all about the fascinating facts and discoveries they bring back with them!

The adventure began before we even arrived. While travelling on the bus, we talked about the importance of public transport, staying safe on and around the roads, and how to keep ourselves safe by understanding stranger danger.

What a wonderful day of learning, exploring and building confidence beyond the classroom!

We wonder where our next adventure will take us... 💭✨

🌍 World Environment Day 🌍

The children of Willow Tree visited Worthington Forest for a litter-picking session and collected over 100 pieces of litter. What an amazing achievement—well done, team!

This was a fantastic opportunity to discuss the impact litter can have on our environment, wildlife, and local communities, as well as the simple actions we can all take to help keep our surroundings clean and safe.

As part of our learning, we reflected on the importance of caring for the world around us:

"To leave the world better than you found it, sometimes you've got to pick up other people's rubbish."

We are so proud of the children for showing such enthusiasm, responsibility, and commitment to protecting our environment. 🌱♻️

🌿 Down in the Woods 🌿

This week, we invited some of our parents and grandparents to join us in the forest for a very special session!

The children began by confidently sharing our forest rules and showing everyone where the boundaries were — “Don’t go past the cones!”

Once everyone was ready, the fun began! We enjoyed story time, dancing with ribbons, digging in the mud, and relaxing in the hammock swings. There were smiles, laughter, and plenty of adventurous exploring along the way.

We have to say, our parents and grandparents did a fantastic job, and we would happily invite them back again!

Thank you for joining us and making such lovely memories with the children.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next forest adventure… 👀

🐝 National Bee Day 🐝

On Wednesday, we celebrated National Bee Day by planting beautiful sunflowers with the children. Each child — along with our staff team — planted their own sunflower to take home and grow for the bees. 🌻

We spent time talking about the important role bees and other insects play in our environment, and how planting flowers can help support them. The children loved learning about nature and getting hands-on with their planting. 🐝💛

We can’t wait to see how tall and colourful their sunflowers will grow over the coming weeks! 🌱✨

🌿 Owls to the rescue! 🌿

This week, our Owls have been thoroughly enjoying learning all about animals and vets, so we decided to continue the theme during our Forest School session.

Using their excellent physical skills and teamwork, the children worked together to build an animal “hospital” using tarpaulin and rope. They then used their wonderful imaginations to create their own “mud medicine” to care for their poorly patients.

Mr Panda had suffered a bump to the head, but the children quickly sprang into action and had him feeling much better in no time!

We may have some very talented future vets in the making!

🐸 Did you know it’s National Frog Month? 🐸

It’s the perfect opportunity to spark curiosity in children and introduce them to the fascinating world of amphibians. Frogs aren’t just fun to watch—they’re important indicators of a healthy environment and a great way to teach children about ecosystems, life cycles, and conservation.

Simple activities like observing frogs in nature, reading books about them, or even creating frog-themed crafts can make learning both engaging and memorable. Encouraging children to explore topics like habitats, adaptation, and environmental responsibility at a young age helps build lifelong awareness and respect for the natural world.

Let’s use moments like this to turn curiosity into learning 🌱
