🥣 Little hands, busy mixing! 🌿

Our little ones at Invitation 2 Play have been busy making flapjacks—pouring oats, squeezing honey and stirring everything together! 💚

Baking offers so many lovely opportunities to learn—from exploring textures and noticing how ingredients change to strengthening little hands and practising coordination.

Sharing the bowl and utensils also gives us time to practise taking turns, introduce new words and build confidence as children have a go for themselves. 🥄

Every scoop, squeeze and stir is part of the learning! ✨

Tomorrow is World Mental Health Day, and at Invitation 2 Play we’re celebrating the ways we nurture children’s emotional wellbeing every day. 🌿

Through our everyday play and caring relationships, we make time for:

🧸 Comfort, reassurance and cosy moments
🎨 Sensory play and creative expression
📚 Stories and conversations about feelings
🧘 Gentle movement and moments of calm

Whether it’s a cuddle with a familiar adult, listening to a child’s worries or helping them find words for a big feeling, these little moments matter.

Our children have been creating a beautiful nature collage with leaves and flowers, exploring their colours, shapes and textures as they carefully press them onto our
window. 🌼

With daylight shining through, there’s so much to notice—from the tiny veins in a leaf to the different shades of green, red and gold. 🍂

This simple invitation to play encourages curiosity, creativity and conversation, while little fingers practise picking up, placing and pressing.

🌿 Peaceful naps, thoughtful care at Invitation 2 Play 💤

Your little one’s safety and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do—including while they sleep. 🤍

We take a thoughtful approach to sleep, with clear routines, careful monitoring and ongoing reviews to support every child’s individual needs. This includes:

🌙 Individual sleep risk assessments and care plans
🌙 Sleep monitoring records and regular checks
🌙 Sleep environment, cot and mattress checklists
🌙 Parent sleep agreements and reviews
🌙 Staff competency assessments and manager audits

Our team has completed safer sleep training, and our manager Denise is our Safer Sleep Champion, helping keep safer sleep a priority throughout the nursery.

Working closely with families helps us understand each child’s routines and needs, while maintaining safer sleep practices. From settling down to waking up, we want every child to feel secure, comfortable and cared for. 🌿

Please speak to your child’s key person if you would like to discuss their sleep routine.

Another fun Sports and All session at Invitation 2 Play! 💚

Our weekly sessions give children opportunities to practise balance and coordination, enjoy being active and build confidence through play. They also help us learn to listen, take turns and encourage our friends. 👏

🌿 A special week with our grandparents at Invitation 2 Play 🤍

Throughout the week, we’ve been welcoming our wonderful grandparents into nursery for stay and play sessions, sharing a little of nursery life with the people who mean so much to our children.

There’s something lovely about watching children share their favourite spaces and play alongside their grandparents. These moments bring home and nursery closer together and give us memories to treasure. ✨

Today we welcomed the Trafford Oral Health Team to Invitation 2 Play to help our children learn about looking after their teeth! 💚

The children explored how to brush their teeth, why toothbrushing matters and how healthy food choices help keep our smiles bright. 🪥😁

Working alongside our local community helps us support children’s wellbeing and encourage healthy habits from an early age. 🌿

So many smiles while exploring our ball pit! Reaching, grasping and moving amongst the balls gives our little ones opportunities to explore through touch and movement. 🌿
