Due to a vacancy, the Governors seek to appoint a reliable and enthusiastic part-time Caretaker to join our friendly team. Experience of working in a School or other large premises is preferred, but training will be provided and the most important requirements are commitment to the role and reliability.

We are a larger than average primary school, with quite large grounds. Reporting to the Site Manager on a day-to-day basis (and liaison with the Senior Leadership Team (Head, Deputy Head and School Business Manager)), the Caretaker role is to ensure, alongside the Site Manager, all aspects of site and facilities management for School and grounds are maintained to a high standard.

The role is all year round, with annual leave taken across School holiday periods.

> Salary: FTE: NJC Band 3, SCP 6-11 (£25,989* – £28,142*) / Pro-Rata to part-time hours: £14,338* - £15,527* (*pay award pending)

> Hours of work: 20 hours per week worked as 4 hours per day from 2.15pm-6.15pm Monday to Friday during term time, with flexibility to increase a little over school holiday periods (additional hours paid), and flexibility across occasional evening or weekend events to support the school calendar (to be agreed in advance)

> Contract: Permanent, Part-Time, All Year Round, 20 hours per week

> Start Date: Tuesday 1st September 2026 - or ASAP thereafter (subject to DBS clearance and reference checks)

🎄🎅 Firs Primary School are kick-starting the festive season with our Christmas Fair this Saturday, 23rd November, from 12pm-2pm. Come and join the fun, with something for all the family: Santa's Grotto, festive treasure hunt, soak the teacher(!), games with prizes, face painting, tombola, raffle with some incredible prizes, lots of stalls (cakes, crafts, gifts, jewellery and more), hot food and drinks, candy floss and popcorn! Everyone is welcome. We hope to see you there! 🎅🎄
