As a childminder, I have an amazing job supporting little ones and ensuring they are developmentally and emotionally ready for school..... but its so very emotional saying goodbye to our families when they leave. This week I had 3 leave for reception year and 1 relocating to Manchester and its been an emotional week!!! One of my leavers cried over the christmas holidays because he missed me so much after just 2 weeks off....another sobbed all the way home yesterday and into the evening because he wants to stay with me and loves me...he's coming back in school holidays... I ensure listening skills so they are ready to sit and listen to their teachers, think critically to extend learning and ask for help if needed and learn self care which is everything from getting dressed/undressed, toileting and hand washing and even being able to open packets and foil lids.... I work so very hard with them and I love each and every single one...they become family! The one thing I can't teach them is how to move on without me... I will miss them all so very much and ive been an emotional wreck this week... my cards and gifts symbolise how valued I am by these families, they have spoiled me and im so very grateful to them all for their support and love over the years.
