🧪✨ TWEENIES & PRESCHOOL ✨🧪⚽️

🔬 STEM Fun! 🔬

Last week, our Tweenies and Preschool children had lots of fun taking part in an exciting STEM experiment! 🧪⚽️ They were challenged to catch a floating ball using fine motor equipment, creating a fantastic opportunity to explore, experiment and learn through play. 💡

The children used trial and error, concentration and perseverance as they explored different ways to catch the ball. There was lots of excitement and laughter as they tried again and again, celebrated their successes and encouraged and praised one another. 👏😊

A wonderful example of how learning through play can inspire curiosity, creativity and a love of learning! 💕🧠✨

⭐️🌱 BABIES 🌱⭐️

So far week we’ve been so happy to welcome some wonderful new friends into our baby room!

💛 It has been lovely watching the children play alongside one another, explore their new surroundings, and begin building those special little friendships and bonds. 💕

We’ve enjoyed a wonderful range of exciting activities, including:

✋ Fine Motor Skills — having fun posting objects!
📖 Story Time — sharing books together
🫟Mark Making —We used cars, brushes and a whole range of tools to create all sorts of amazing marks with paint! 🚗🖌️🎨

…and plenty more exploration and discovery! ✨

🚙🧼🫧 BABIES AND TODDLERS 🫧🧼🚙

Today our babies and toddlers followed one of their recent interests — cars! 🚗 — and turned it into an exciting painting and sensory experience. 🎨✨

We started by creating colourful car tracks by rolling, pushing and moving the cars through the paint and down the ramp. The children loved joining in with “Ready, steady, go!”, developing their listening, communication and language skills while having lots of fun. 🗣️💬

They were fascinated watching the cars roll down the ramp and seeing the colourful tracks they had created. This experience supported their physical development, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving and creativity, while encouraging exploration and curiosity. 🌈

Then it was time for the CAR WASH! 🧼🚙 The toddlers used bubbly water to clean the paint-covered cars, enjoying the wonderful sensory experience of splashing, squeezing and scrubbing. 🫧💦

A fun-filled activity inspired by the children’s interests, supporting learning through play, exploration and discovery! ❤️🌟

❤️💙💚TWEENIES AND PRESCHOOL 💚💙❤️

Our Tweenies and Preschool children have been focusing on all things emotions — exploring how we feel, what makes us feel certain ways, and learning that all of our feelings are important!

We’ve been using The Colour Monster to help us recognise and talk about different emotions. For our focus activity, the children posted colourful pom-poms into the monster to show how they were feeling and why.

We had lots of fun making different facial expressions to represent our emotions and talking about how different transitions, experiences and events can make us feel a certain way.

It was wonderful to see the children expressing themselves, listening to one another and beginning to understand that everyone can experience emotions differently. 💕🧠🌈

👩🏼‍🍳🧁TWEENIES AND PRESCHOOL🧁👩🏼‍🍳

Today our Tweenies and Pre-School children had lots of fun baking strawberry muffins with Lynne and Claire!

The children were encouraged to follow simple instructions and talk about each step of the baking process. They helped to measure, pour, scoop and mix the ingredients, developing their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and confidence in using different utensils.

We talked about quantities, textures, smells and changes as we mixed our ingredients together.

Once our muffins were ready, we used our creativity to decorate them, making them extra special to enjoy after tea❤️🧁

🌱⭐️ TODDLERS ⭐️🌱

What another fun-filled week we’ve had in the Toddler Room! We’ve been busy exploring, creating, learning and having lots of fun together.

🍃 Outdoor Learning
We’ve enjoyed lots of exciting outdoor activities this week, from racing around on the trikes and creating sounds with pots and pans, to exploring our dinosaur sensory trays, following our recent interest in dinosaurs.

🎨 Mark Making & Creativity
We put our mark-making skills to the test using different brushes and rollers to decorate stones. We had lots of fun experimenting with colours and patterns, and our creations are ready to take home and brighten up our gardens!

🔠🎣🔢 Alphabet & Number Recognition
We used nets to fish for hidden letters and numbers in bubbly water. The toddlers loved scooping them up and, with support from their familiar adults, identifying what they had found. A fun way to develop our early literacy and numeracy skills!

🧱 Building & Teamwork
We worked together as a team to build and create towers, counting as we went along. Of course, the best part was watching them come tumbling down! We had lots of fun rebuilding and trying again.

What a busy and wonderful week we’ve had! 🌱❤️
