We have had a lovely first full week back in owl class! We have spent time in our maths lessons getting to understand place value by doing a practical lesson and then applying it to our work the next day. In writing we have been working on some of our grammar that we hope to use in the year ahead. In PE, we have taken part in lots of team building games and even spoken about how we want our class to be in PSHE lessons. We have had a lovely week settling in and look forward to another fun filled week next week!

Woodpecker Class has had a wonderful start to the new academic year. In Maths, we have been learning to partition numbers into tens and ones. In Computing, we explored how to take a good photograph and then applied these skills in Art by capturing patterns and textures around the school. In Science, we investigated the structure of a seed by carefully dissecting one and identifying its key parts, including the embryo, seed coat and endosperm.

Squirrel have had a great first full week back so far. Investigating mixtures and pure substances using toys and sweets in science to learning about symbolic Hindu artefacts that are present in home shrines, we have had a great week. A special thank you to Mrs Sobti for letting us look at her own special artefacts. We will learn more about these over the coming weeks.
