Bright Sparks Forest School Family forest school for all ages, encouraging free play, exploration and learning new skills in woodlands in West Cumbria. or run specific skills sessions.

Sarah is a forest school practitioner, playworker & outdoor facilitator currently working on lots of different projects including outdoor learning at Riversmeet, play work and art with Rosehill theatre and ad hoc sessions in her own woodland at Egremont. 🏸Join us on our Play Trail, every Tuesday and Wednesday from the 21st July until the 19th August from 12 noon till 4.pm. Enjoy a free and easy day of fun with balance bikes, volleyball, badminton and more!

⭐️ Sarah Lenehan, from Bright Sparks Forest School is back for Cumberlandia 2026!

⭐️ Sarah is a playworker and forest school practitioner, most at home in wild places. She loves to co-create spaces with the families she works with where everyone feels valued. She prioritises play, creativity and nature connection in her own family life and the spaces where she works. Sarah loves to discover creative ways to use and explore natural materials and is very interested in the power of story and imagination. She hopes for a future where everyone feels part of the natural world and recognises their power to make a difference.

⭐️ At Cumberlandia Sarah will be providing nature-based creative activities for all, including pebble poetry and nature zines. She will also have a small nature table for exploring some nature treasures.

⭐️ Her workshop is 1-3pm on Saturday 25th on the village green.

Well there's no better job when it's weather like this! I was lucky enough to be invited to deliver a beach play session for a toddler group in a nearby village - an empty beach, sunny weather and lots of delightful little ones 😁 Sometimes this work is mostly about providing space and giving permission to people to do what they know they need.
