Today has brought a huge amount of uncertainty for Lime House School families, and we know that, right now, many of you will be wondering what comes next.

🎉 Outstanding IGCSE results at St Bees School!

Our students have achieved the school’s best IGCSE results since reopening in 2018 and we are absolutely over the moon for them all!

Key highlights include:
⭐ 27% of all grades were A*
⭐ 43% were A* - A
⭐ 84% were A* - C
⭐ Every Year 11 student achieved at least seven IGCSEs at A* - C

Our IGCSE value-added score of +0.68 shows that students achieved well beyond expectations, with Languages being our highest-performing faculty at an exceptional +1.17.

There were some remarkable individual performances too. Bobby achieved 7 A*s and 3 As, including 96% in Mandarin Chinese. Lucy achieved 8 A*s, 2 As and 1 B, including an outstanding 97% in Mathematics. Year 10 student Jasmine also achieved 96% in Mandarin Chinese after sitting the examination a year early. (Not the only student to receive an A* in Chinese a whole year early - well done Jacob too!).

These exceptional results reflect the determination of our students, the dedication of our staff and the invaluable support of all our families.

Congratulations to you all. We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see you all again in a few weeks for the start of term 👏

On Saturday 15 August, St Bees School welcomed the annual St Bees Garden Society Show, and what a wonderful show it was! With an incredible 987 entries and a fantastic turnout, it was lovely to see so many familiar faces, as well as new people joining in and getting involved.

A huge thank you to everyone who entered, attended, volunteered and helped organise the show. Your hard work and support made the day such a success. 🌺

We’re already looking forward to next year’s show, which will take place on Saturday 21 August 2027!

☀️ The final few weeks of the summer holidays are here and what a summer it’s been!

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate our A Level results, with fantastic results across the board. 🎉 A huge congratulations to every student. Your hard work, determination and commitment have truly paid off. Well done!

And next week, it’s time for our IGCSE results. 🤞 We can’t wait to celebrate those achievements too.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, we’re super busy getting ready for another fantastic year, but our doors are still open for new students.

🎉📚 A Level Success at St Bees!

We are thrilled to celebrate our students’ fantastic 2026 A Level and AS Level results!

✨ 97% A Level pass rate
✨ 71% of passing grades were at A*-C
✨ One quarter of students achieved exclusively A* or A grades
✨ 43% achieved their stretch target grade

Our students also made excellent progress, achieving a positive overall A Level Value Added score of +0.17. Progress in STEM subjects was particularly impressive, with an overall Value Added score of +0.44.

Our leavers have achieved the grades needed to take up outstanding university offers, including:

🎓 General Engineering at King’s College London
🎓 Environmental Management at the University of Manchester
🎓 Sociology at the University of Manchester
🎓 Biomedicine at Lancaster University
🎓 Content, Media and Film Production at BIMM University

These achievements reflect the determination of our students, the dedication of our teaching staff and the invaluable support of our families and school community.
