💜 SNIPERS V BODMIN 2 💜

Snipers hosted Bodmin’s seconds tonight for their first game in Division 2 after promotion last season.

The first quarter was fairly even, with both teams having opportunities to establish a lead, but neither managing to quite pull away. The Snipers mid courters of Claudia, Zoe and Soph worked the ball down court with accuracy, sending some lovely feeds into shooters Vic and Jada who were in fine form as Sils went into the break just one goal behind - so far so good.

A couple changes at the break saw Ella come on at GA while Vic moved to the mid court. The changes took a while to bed in, and Bodmin took advantage of a few mishaps in order to increase their score and create some breathing space.

Another reshuffle saw captain Claudia back on at WA while Vic had a well deserved rest in the third period. 8 goals down, Sils dug in deep and played some of their best Netball of the game. Jaimee had stepped into the defensive circle as GK for this game, accompanying Freya at GD and they posed a real threat to the Bodmin attack throughout, but especially so in the third securing some fantastic turn overs and combining nicely with Soph to put Bodmin on the back foot and help win the quarter.

Rested, Vic returned at GA as Ella replaced Jada at GS for the final fifteen. Bodmin had made some changes of their own and they took no time in re-establishing their lead when some long bombs into the circle were swiftly converted by their shooters while a few rushed balls saw Sils lose possession, and Bodmin capitalise from their turnovers. Sils continued to work hard, but the deficit was difficult to overcome and Bodmin maintained a healthy lead as the game finished 48-36.

Well done girls - a great first game in a tough division. A few bits to work on but equally a lot of positives to take.

Eyes down for the first social of the season 👀

Some of the Sils had a great time at the Next Ed Cornwall CIC’s charity BINGO at The Britannia Inn. last night.

Although not big among the prizes, we did walk away with a Malteser Reindeer and have a lot of fun, all while supporting a great cause!

💜 SILHOUETTES V MARVELS 💜

Tonight Marvels hosted both of our teams for some friendly games at Penrice.

💜 Shadows V Crew

Shadows started the game well with some lovely attacking play down court from midcourters Antonia, Lana and Steph who fed some clever balls in to shooters Leah and Dani and Brodi to establish an early lead.

As the game progressed, we tried some new combinations that didn’t quite work as well while on the flipside Crew grew into the game and came back at us, despite some great defensive play from Molly and Tegan who are really coming into their own as a partnership.

Shadows still managed to win all quarters though to grab a 24-15 win.

Well done Shadows - a great game and more experience under our belts!

Opposition POTM: Lana 👸🏻
Coaches POTM: Antonia 👸🏽

💜 Snipers V Squad

With some new additions, this was Snipers first game together in Silhouettes purple - and what a game it was!

It was a great opportunity to form new partnerships and gage what works for us, and despite the team being relatively new, at times you’d have thought they’d played together for years.

In a similar fashion to the earlier Shadows game, Snipers came out of the blocks quickly to give themselves a decent lead in the first half of the game. The shooting partnership of Jada and Ella paid dividends, they were both excellent positionally as well as in front of goal.

Meanwhile Claudia, Soph and Zoe worked together beautifully, creating space on court and sending some lovely feeds into our shooters and at the other end, Jaimee did a great job assisting Freya in the defending circle, as they grabbed some fabulous interceptions, rebounds and tips to win back possession for Snipers.

In the second half of the game we made some changes which didn’t quite gel while Marvels hit a different gear and began to eat away at the deficit, winning both of the last quarters. However, Snipers hung in there to keep a two goal advantage and seal a 38-36 win.

Well done girls - a great game for the spectator and some stunning play!

💜 SHADOWS V CROFTY 💜

Silhouettes Shadows made the journey down to Camborne tonight to play their second game of the season against Crofty.

From the moment the game began Sils could feel it would be a fast paced match, with the Crofty attack asserting their physicality from the get go. Shadows tried to keep composure though, as the mid court of Antonia, Lana and Steph worked the ball nicely down court into shooters Dani and Leah who gave Shadows a comfortable lead.

Brodi slotted in nicely with great movement and shooting at GS, while putting in a strong performance at WD after Lana had to sadly go off with an ankle injury. Despite the changes, Shadows continued to dominate the game; Tegan and Molly teamed up well defensively, improving quarter by quarter and getting the measure of tonight’s opponents with lots of interceptions and rebounds gained. Meanwhile, Grace made her debut, moving in and around the circle well at GS and WA to help Sils maintain their lead and win the game 46-22.

Well done girls - another positive performance. 💜

Thank you to Claire for umpiring for us as well!

💜 SHADOWS V LANIVET PANDAS 💜

Shadows began their 2026/2027 social league campaign tonight when they hosted Lanivet Pandas.

Sils dominated the early parts of the game, racking up an impressive score thanks to some fantastic long range shooting from Dani at GA, with Leah and Brodi assisting her as they shared the GS bib in the first half of the match. Meanwhile, defenders Tegan and Molly combined well to keep our opponents score low and retrieve possession for the mid court trio of Antonia, Steph and Lana who worked tirelessly to feed the ball down court into the attack throughout the game.

Pandas made some changes at half time and it made the match a much closer affair, with Pandas winning the third quarter. Shadows managed to regain control in the final fifteen though, cruising to a 43-26 win.

Well done team - a great game!

Thanks to Sam for scoring for us and to Heather for umpiring.

🚨 We need your help to keep our teams on court!
