Had my first flight in our Alto today. Absolutely fantastic! Did an hours familiarisation at Sywell with a few landings before flying back to Plaistows with a 15 knot crosswind to greet me.
Lots of room in the cockpit, very comfortable, great view.
Slow cruise at 4000rpm is 90-95 mph, 115 mph at 4700 and 140 mph flat out.
It’s my first aircraft with an Auto pilot and I am stunned how well it works in today’s thermic conditions.

Yesterday the Alto arrived!
Jan flew it all the way from eastern Czech Republic, all through Germany, Belgium across the channel and up to Sywell in a day- showing what a fabulous touring machine it is.

The first Uk Alto NG has made its maiden flight at the factory in the Czech Republic and is arriving here in the UK next Tuesday- Can’t wait…!

Congratulations to Will Grimwood for passing his GST today. Will turned 17 in February and this month has passed his driving test and now his flying test.
Thanks to Paul Dewhurst for coming to do the test today. It was 28 years ago that Paul passed me on my test!
