Make Me Good Again follows Max, an eighteen-year-old autistic young man whose family is searching for hope amidst growing challenges. When a new opportunity in America promises a fresh start, they instead find themselves confronting a world that sees autism as something to be cured. As tensions rise, Max's younger brother Daniel begins to question his own identity in this powerful, thought-provoking new drama.
This is an exciting opportunity to support our pupils and experience the premiere of an outstanding new work before it takes to one of the world's biggest arts festivals.

πΉ Exciting news from our Music Department!
This week, they travelled to London to choose the new Steinway Model S grand piano for The Smith Space. After testing three exceptional pianos, the decision was unanimous and we can't wait to welcome it to school before the end of term.
They also enjoyed a fascinating tour of the Steinway factory, where they learnt about the craftsmanship behind these world-renowned instruments, from the Alaskan spruce used for the soundboards to the precision design that creates the distinctive Steinway sound.
One of the highlights of the day was playing the very piano used by Freddie Mercury at Live Aid and now owned by Brian May.
We look forward to seeing our new Steinway in The Smith Space and hearing it played by our students before the summer break.

Did you know that one of the oldest Roman theatres in the UK is just down the road from St Albans School - and still used for performances? Our Second Form pupils had a lovely evening seeing an interpretation of some of the Sherlock Holmes stories they have been reading in English, with lots of laughs, Holmesian genius, and some poignant moments too. Although they lost track of just how many roles were played by the cast of four, they enjoyed how the production interwove so many of the famous short stories into an overarching narrative, and loved the inventive use of the set. We look forward to our next trip to the St Albans Roman Theatre!

Lower Sixth Law Enrichment students enjoyed a fascinating tour of βlegal Londonβ on Friday. The morning started by hearing appeals cases in the Royal Courts of Justice followed by a tour of Inner Temple and formal lunch in a private dining parlour! The trip concluded with a tour of Temple Church, not just an important place for those called to the bar but also a significant historical building associated with The Knights Templar. Our thanks are extended to our host and guide HH Philip Waller and the hospitality of Inner Temple.

The Drama Department led an unforgettable enrichment trip to see Stranger Things: The First Shadow at the Phoenix Theatre attended by over 30 students last week.
From start to finish, the show was fast-paced, exciting, and packed with suspense, serving as a brilliant prequel to the TV series. The special effects were absolutely incredible and there were even a few jump scares that certainly kept everyone on the edge of their seats!
A fantastic evening of theatre that was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable trip!
