End of an era… ❤️
After 15 wonderful years, today Bricket Wood Childminding is officially closing its doors. Over that time, I’ve had the absolute privilege of looking after 68 incredible little humans and each one leaving a mark on my heart.
Now it’s time for a new chapter. I’m heading to Northampton to take on a fresh adventure as manager of a lovely preschool, and I couldn’t be more excited for what lies ahead.
To all my amazing families: thank you for your trust, your support, and your friendship. So many of you have become part of my life in ways I never imagined. So while this is goodbye to Bricket Wood Childminding, it’s not goodbye to you 💕

Investigating our broad beans that have been growing on the playroom window for two weeks.
Lots of gorgeous descriptive language from our little people - “they are so big now”, “mine is still little”, “its hard”, “my bean is brown and green and white” 🌱 🌱 🌱

The children planted some broad bean seeds in clear bags so they could watch them grow. We always plant seeds and flowers but thought this was a brilliant way of seeing what goes on beneath the soil! We planted these seeds 2 weeks ago and the condensation cycle has meant we haven't needed to water them yet!
To conduct an experiment with beans in a bag, follow these steps:
Place several damp, folded paper towels into a zip lock bag.
Insert five staples about halfway up the bag to keep the beans in the right place.
Place a few beans into the bag.
Tape the bag onto a wall or window, adding water as needed to keep the paper towel damp.
It should take 3-5 days for the seed to germinate.

Last week we released our 4 beautiful admiral butterflies into the world having watched their transformation from caterpillar-cocoon-butterfly 🐛 🦋
We started with 5 caterpillars but unfortunately one seemed to cocoon too early. It was smaller than the others and never emerged but did spark lots of questions about the circle of life which is always good.
Fly free 🦋🦋🦋🦋
