Our ESOL learners recently took part in their first Hospitality & Catering Enrichment session at The Stables, working alongside Entry Level Hospitality and Catering students in a range of practical activities.
It was fantastic to see students build confidence, develop new skills and support one another throughout the session. A great start to our June enrichment programme! 👏

Students from Animal Management, Carpentry and T Level Construction joined forces with our industry partner Willmott Dixon to design and build a brand-new aviary for Ophelia, our resident owl.
From selecting the design and crafting the panels to installing the finished structure, students gained valuable hands-on experience while showcasing the power of collaboration across different curriculum areas.
A huge well done to everyone involved in creating Ophelia's fantastic new home! 👏

Day 3 at Sibuya Game Reserve🦏
The students visited an anti-poaching dog unit, gaining an insight into the vital role these highly trained dogs play in protecting rhinos and supporting conservation efforts. An incredible opportunity to see first-hand the work being done to safeguard wildlife🙌

This week, our Hospitality & Catering students enjoyed an inspiring visit to Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park. From field-to-table masterclasses with Head Chef Alex Green to meeting rare breeds and exploring conservation, students gained invaluable industry insight👏

Last week, four of our talented Music students visited Jersey Farm Community Centre to deliver a fun and interactive percussion session for local residents, supported by Music lecturer Phil.
The session was a fantastic opportunity for students to share their skills, gain real-world experience and make a positive impact in the community. The feedback was incredible, and everyone enjoyed getting involved with the rhythms and live music!
A huge well done to our students for representing Oaklands College so brilliantly.
