At St Columba’s College, child-centred learning has always been at the core of our holistic approach to education. We are committed to meeting the needs of our young people by offering a broad range of subjects that support their academic journey and their appetite to learn. From Psychology, Sociology, Business, Philosophy and Ethics to Product Design, we have been providing diverse opportunities for many years and great success stories have come out of doing this.

We are also excited to introduce Advanced Applied Qualifications (AAQs) starting from September 2025, further expanding our Sixth Form curriculum.

St Columba's were delighted to host 28 Sixth Form students for their first training day, as part of a wider course. It was a pleasure to welcome schools from the Westminster diocese - St Ignatius, St Anne's, St Thomas More and Maria Fedelis. All students were inspired by the CAFOD workshops and are now keen to promote social justice in their own communities.

4 of our SCC CAFOD Young Leaders (Ronan, Marco, Shimal and Alec) got together to start planning their first CAFOD project, following their training day.

Our first event will be selling World Gifts at the Columban Fayre on Saturday 23rd November. These make great Christmas presents for those who want to buy something a little different this year.

St Albans gets it's own Monopoly Board!

Today marks the launch of 'St Albans' Monopoly, and we are proud to be part of this iconic family board game, that has been enjoyed for generations.

Our pupils were thrilled to see their College featured on the board, and they got even more excited when they were able to meet Mr Monopoly himself!

At St Columba's, our College community is very special, and it is fantastic to have opportunities like this, where we can all be part of the wider local community too.

Today is World Mental Health Day, and here at St Columba's College we united as a community to focus on the importance of Mental Health. It was a great opportunity to reflect on how important well-being is within our community, a community we feel incredibly proud of.

Music is an integral part of life at St Columba’s College – academically, socially and spiritually. All pupils are given the opportunity to thrive on their musical journey through singing and playing instruments. Pupils have the opportunity to learn to play a wide variety of instruments, either individually or in smaller groups, it is wonderful to see them all learn about music from across the globe.

Mrs Baker, the new Head of Prep Music, is excited to continue the existing excellent musical traditions whilst also embracing new musical directions in collaboration with the Head of Senior Music, Mr Starling. Inclusivity is at the heart of what we do and there is something for everyone to enjoy!

It was an impressive 5-2 win away at Monks Walk School this week that ensures the 1st XI progress to the 2nd round of the U18 County Cup!
