Calling all tradespeople!
Next academic year, we are planning a Careers Day for our Year 9 students focused on trade-based careers, including construction, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, mechanics, hairdressing, barbering, beauty therapy, painting and decorating, and many more.

The aim is to help students explore the wide range of career pathways available to them by hearing directly from industry professionals about the skills, qualifications, and experiences needed to succeed in these vital professions.

We are looking for real tradespeople who would be willing to support the event by running practical, hands-on sessions throughout the day (9amโ€“3pm, date TBC). Your involvement could inspire the next generation and help students gain valuable insight into careers they may not otherwise consider.

If you think you could help, or would like to find out more, please get in touch:

Please share this post to help us reach as many local professionals as possible!

Saphina want to support ...
Over to her...
"For those that donโ€™t know me, Iโ€™ve just finished Year 11 and turn 16 in August.

The Little Princess Trust is a charity which makes and supplies wigs to children who have lost their hair through illness, primarily cancer treatment.

I have decided to shave my head and donate my hair to this charity for that purpose. However, the charity is in dire need of money to support the making and distribution of wigs, so it made perfect sense to raise money for this at the same time. It costs around ยฃ700 to make and supply just ONE wig so I want to make as much as possible for them.

The Little Princess Trust also supports research into Paediatric Cancer treatments.
Please support me in this important and memorable journey and if you see me round school in September 2026 with a buzz cut, remember to donate. Just ยฃ1 from every pupil and teacher would benefit the charity hugely.

I plan on continuing to raise money after the event until I go back to school in September and you can see me in all my new-found-baldness glory.

Here is my Just Giving page and if your parents donate, they can Gift Aid the donation, so the charity receives even more money!
