Slots for after school are all fully booked EXCEPT Mondays 4:15 - 5:15. Grab the last one while you still can!

This comes as a monthly tuition package with optional extra support depending on your child's study needs.

Group Tuition...

Specialist small group tuition is running on Thursdays 6:45 - 7:45 with very limited slots available.

This is a monthly tuition package where you can select the lowest tier (tuition sessions only) or add on further 1:1 support if your child needs further coaching.

⭐️ Why I don't worry about test scores... ⭐️

Brilliant news this week as one of my ADHD students scored top of his class!

I am always delighted when SEND students share with me their successes, but this is why I never worry about their test scores...

🧠 focus on test scores create pressure
🧠 pressure can overwhelm us during tests
🧠 lower scores can mean lower confidence
🧠 lower confidence means we start to doubt ourselves.. and the vicious cycle continues...

Working with my students I flip the focus:
✅ understand the subject matter
✅ trust in your ability to understand complicated things
✅ gain confidence in tackling exam questions without pressure
✅ get those lovely dopamine hits when you pick up marks

My students cope well in their exams because they believe they can do well in exams... which means they do achieve in their exams! 🚀

Equations are worth 30% of your Physics GCSE marks, and are particularly challenging where sustaining focus for extended periods is an issue.

Here's one of the scaffolds I use with one of my students with ADHD. This gives them a process to follow that locks in the first marks early (even if they get the final answer wrong). Exam overwhelm is reducing, and marks are starting to go up... 📈

It's just magic when my old Year 11s get in touch. 🥲

This student didn't think they'd be able to do A-levels as their overall grades wouldn't be good enough.

Now they're in Sixth Form studying their favourite subjects (which doesn't include Physics 😨 but their GCSE result got them there!).

The reality is (whether we agree or not), qualifications can open doors and Physics tuition helped get them on the career/life path that didn't seem like an achievable option for them.

Many of the families I work with have tried multiple different tutors. Sometimes it can be a real challenge to find the right fit for your child with more complex needs:

Here's what you should look for in a SEND tutor:

✅ SEND experience, either professionally, personally or someone who has SEND children (all three in my case!) - it's important that they will understand the challenges your child is facing

✅ experienced teacher who has extensive knowledge of supporting a range of students with different needs - they should be able to explain a concept in at least three different ways, adjust their approach & respond to challenges as they arise

✅ curiosity about your child and how they learn & how they feel about the subject - they need to create a safe space in which your child feels comfortable making (and learning from) mistakes, know when to focus on the work and when to focus on building rapport
