☺️ Week 3 Done! ☺️

Another week of term is over & it's been a productive one...

You can tell my autism is currently in charge (rather than ADHD) from everything ticked off this week... 🧠

✅ business accounts for 2025/26 are complete... I had to use all my best ADHD hacks to overcome the serious avoidance!
✅ some great school visits as part of my SEND governor role this week, meeting with SLT & Herts School Effectiveness Adviser to talk teaching & learning... I love a discussion on a marking & feedback policy!
✅ meetings with governors to plan the academic year ahead & completed some of my tasks as Chair of the School Effectiveness Committee
✅ Continuing to rehab my hip (thanks hypermobile EDS... all part of the AuDHD package)
.. and to finish it all off, had a BRILLIANT first session with an amazing new student. I can already see the change in them after 90 minutes working together 🥳 🤩

Time for a rest before a Lido trip, a Secondary School Open Day & keeping my two SEND kids entertained (this morning they managed to have an argument about a bed?!).

Slots for after school are all fully booked EXCEPT Mondays 4:15 - 5:15. Grab the last one while you still can!

This comes as a monthly tuition package with optional extra support depending on your child's study needs.

Group Tuition...

Specialist small group tuition is running on Thursdays 6:45 - 7:45 with very limited slots available.

This is a monthly tuition package where you can select the lowest tier (tuition sessions only) or add on further 1:1 support if your child needs further coaching.

⭐️ Why I don't worry about test scores... ⭐️

Brilliant news this week as one of my ADHD students scored top of his class!

I am always delighted when SEND students share with me their successes, but this is why I never worry about their test scores...

🧠 focus on test scores create pressure
🧠 pressure can overwhelm us during tests
🧠 lower scores can mean lower confidence
🧠 lower confidence means we start to doubt ourselves.. and the vicious cycle continues...

Working with my students I flip the focus:
✅ understand the subject matter
✅ trust in your ability to understand complicated things
✅ gain confidence in tackling exam questions without pressure
✅ get those lovely dopamine hits when you pick up marks

My students cope well in their exams because they believe they can do well in exams... which means they do achieve in their exams! 🚀
