Worried about your child's eating? Jacqueline Parkinson is a Children’s Occupational Therapist based in Harpenden. She is the founder of Magnificent Munchers which specialises in food therapy for children on limited diets, often referred to as fussy or picky eaters. The team work with all children from toddlers to teenagers using the SOS (Sequential, Oral, Sensory) approach.

Magnificent Munchers work with children from 2-16 years of age offering both individual and group food therapy sessions tailored to meet your child’s specific needs. With their high staff ratio and specialist therapy knowledge they aim to help children learn to explore a wider variety of tastes and textures and become happy social eaters.

The team work with children with a variety of conditions including those on the Autistic Spectrum and ARFID (Avoidant Restricted Food Intake Disorder) and aim to offer a flexible approach to therapy to fit in around school and work schedules with some evening and weekend appointments available.

Top Hat Stage School have been running weekend stage schools for 27 years making them the longest running part time stage school in Hertfordshire. Their ethos has always been “Quality performing arts training” something they maintain in all their courses. Weekend schools are located at Mandeville Primary School.

This summer, Top Hat are offering their popular holiday workshop, which is an intensive one week course where students aged 4 – 17 have to put on a show in this time. They have to learn the lines, the songs and dance routines, before performing it in front of a live audience on the last day. This year the show is Shrek The Musical!

No audition necessary! Everyone is welcome. All they ask, is that children bring their enthusiasm!

Jeanette is a qualified teacher for over 20 years, (SendCo for 10) and now the owner of The Learning Garden based in Frogmore, St Albans. She tutors maths and English after school for primary children who may need a boost or who simply love to learn! During the day she works with children age 5-18 who are out of school for a variety of reasons or maybe in school and needing a little 1:1 extra support to help them to build their confidence.

The Learning Garden is offering Summer Booster Sessions, for small groups of 2-4 children but 1:1 sessions may also be available on request.
