to give new PM Andy Burnham the critical message that our countryside and green spaces need to be protected.
Today, Sunday, the Community Planning Alliance has a full-page advert in the Observer Newspaper that asks all UK citizens who care about our green spaces and nature to sign this Welcome to your new home "card" that asks Mr Burnham to do 3 things :
1. Plan for local housing need, not national targets
2. Build on brownfield first, greenfield last
3. Reverse the Grey Belt rules - Green Belt, not grey
This is a one-off opportunity for us to make these critical requests of our new prime minister. If he accepts and incorporates them into his government's policies, there is a real chance to overturn the devastating damage of the last two years and for our Green Belt, our countryside and nature to be protected again.
